Thread: Having lots of fun with the 'bugged' and 'nerfed' profession?
All over the blinkin' place, different forums--core systems, swordsman, others--I hear about how useless TK is now. There's a post I read in one forum that specifically told another poster to drop TK, respec to something else, it wasn't any good anymore (not gonna give details, why cause trouble, everyone's entitled to their totally moronic opinion). I've been told in game that the 'golden days of TK are over'. Heck, somebody I know laughed at me for going TKM/Master Swords from TKM/Master Commando in respec ('You should go Master Carbineer/Master Commando, or go Swords/Fencer if you gotta stay melee, but ditch that TK already, it's worthless!')...until he got incapacitated by critters that I peeled off of him before he could get killed, at least (still learning to tank in the CU world, I do screw up at times). We're bugged, we've been nerfed, we're gimped, it's impossible to do anything with TK anymore, all melee got shafted and TK worst of all, TK's are the redheaded stepchildren of the CU, going TK causes plaque and gingivitis...okay, maybe I didn't hear that last one. My obvious question, with all this hearsay, if TK is so bloody useless...

Yeah, I've got no spin attacks, who needs 'em? Endless spin attacks on lairs to take out the lair and the Janta surrounding you is BORING. Yeah, I can't wear armor and get the innate armor, but the above example I was in regular clothing (not even BE'd which seems to be broke right now anyway), he was in comp. Yes, some people do still use comp, and I laughed at him for that (well, not nastily, he's still Commando like I was, he's entitled to the 'Commando Armor'
Admittedly I'm not a big fan of PVP and haven't done any, so that alters the possibilities for death greatly, but now that I've learned how to survive in the new world--wanna know the only time I've died in the last couple weeks, every minute unarmored? Once, and that was when I was bugged thanks to Sunrunner dying in the middle of trying to go on leave--I was stuck unable to either go combatant OR on leave, effectively combatant but unable to get a promotion I wanted since my 'paperwork was in process' and had been for days--when I went out and specifically TRIED to get killed. Which turned out to be hard work! I could've gone out and found a level 85 swarm I'm sure, instead of a bunch of 78's (yes I'm level 80), but I wanted it to at least be some challenge
So what fun are y'all having with our so-very-bugged and unplayable profession, eh? How're other 'useless' TKA's having so much fun it oughtta be illegal? Share, I for one want to hear!

QFE. Heck, I think we're better than we were. Different, the part that I feel scares folks the most, but still better.
Just look at me, MTK 'gimped' and and here it comes......MRanger 'gimped since launch'. I can tell you TKM is still a good profession, even without mastering swords or pikes. Ranger does give me combat lvl, but no specials or weapon's. It give me battle armor midagatshion (ms) which I don't use because of TKM. I do get my traps and camo, which I do use.
I havn't figured out why they are crying. I am having a blast my self, I have figured out how to use both professions in concert and have no problems taking out lvl 83-84 missions on Dath. It does keep one on their toes, and the old heart gets pumped up sometimes, but hey thats the fun.

3-4 even cons...bah! I'm TK/CM and I can tank 7-8 level 82's (4 ways to heal...hehe). And groups love me as I keep them safe and healed.

That kinda goes back to what some have said in a few posts...I've said it in a bunch. Learn your skills! I died a buncha times when first learning TKM/MSwords, but I kept at it, found what worked, what didn't, learned how to heal myself in combat (why I'm not dropping that Medic for anything) with stims and bacta both, learned to use maskscent effectively to make sure I fight the number of critters I want to fight (usually
