This is what I would like to see happen with the melee professions;

Defense pros (like tka and pike) get more defensive abilities than offensive ones. With the reverse being true for offense pros, like swordmen and fencer. However each pros off or def abilities are not that different from each other. Meaning head hit isn't that much greater than combo and cob isn't that much greater than flurry. The balance is that a tka has only a few damage abilities, so the swordmen with outdamage him, because he has more of them.

When the player mastered tka and sword, he could focus on his defense at the cost of offense or use a mix of both or whatever. He could do this either with his hammer or bare hands without a huge difference. The hammer might cost more action but do a little more damage while unarmed he cost less but doesn't do as much damage.

High def skills should mean something as should speed and accuracy. If I mix-match to get high defs, I should be a better defensive build than someone who goes for high accuracy and using cob shouldn't wipe away my efforts, it should add to my defensive build. Meaning I should be a better tank using cob and having high def than someone who is just using cob.

What all this means is I could be a good damage tka (with a tka/sword or tka/fencer mix) and by tka I mean using tka weapons or a good defensive swordmen (tka/sword or pike/sword). As a cm/tka or doc/tka I could still do alright damage wise, but my lower acc/speed/def means I have to reply more on my healing and debuf abilities. A tank build shouldn't have to have medic or cob to be able to be a good tank solo or grouped.

The other thing I don't get is why the devs haven't put an end to being able to master 3 elites. Its looks to be a fairly easy fix and its better to do it now while people can still respec than wait and do it a month from now.
