i am about 500 exp from TK novice, i was wondering if TKMasters have no need for pets at all out soloing?

i know pets have a while lot mroe ham, but ill be able to pistol bleedx2, then dizzy kd delay with vibros

so main question, is it viable to drop ch for TKa, im assuming it is for Master TK, but my question is fo getting to master,

i also have Feign death, which is wonderful, so any feed back would help, maybe an example of some thigs you have soloed with out pets and at what levels

Basically there's nothing like a Graul pet..

-----------

Say you're out xping..

1) First you get a super high mission grouping with your pet that you would never be able to get without CH.

2) You find this lair of mobs that would multiple aggro.. maybe they are all red.. What do you do? Sick the pet on the lair.. Every single mob attacks the pet.. He has the armor, resists and HAM to take the hits.. You run up and pick them off the pet 1 by 1.. No worries about mass aggro.

3) Want to complete that high lvl mission but don't want to kill 20+ mobs? Set a bunch of patrol points leading away from the lair... Have the pet attack the lair get all aggro and then start leading the mobs away.. Now you have 2 or 3 minutes alone with the lair to do what you want.

All in all there's nothing like having a group member you can order to suicidefor you or pretty much do what ever you wanthim to... Beats the hell outta falling on the ground playing dead.

I'm a Master Smuggler/Master Tera Kasi.

I don't use pets, never seen the point or need for them to be honest.
Obviously it's not easy trying to take on real hardcore mobs such as Ancient Bull Rancors, Krayts, etc.
However, for the most part... I have found that where if i chose to take on a herd of Mountain Dewbacks with just my pistol, i get overwhelmed fast. If i walk into the group, and start fighting, no specials, i can kill all the dewbacks with ease and take next to no damage from it either.
This is relevant for many many mobs out there. Rancor, Enraged Rancor, Nightsisters, a great deal of high level mobs basically can be soloed with Teras Kasi, and you don't even need to hit Master to do it. I was taking on Rancor at Novice TKA. Liberal use of Warcry and Intimidate works wonders. And thanks to my Smuggler abilities in the dirty fighting tree, what i would do is Low Blow, then warcry to delay the creature without aggroing everything around me, like Panic shot would, and thus i got to fight many tough creatures and npc's using this method. Personally i think Smuggler/TKA is a great combination of professions that work very well together. And it leaves you with plenty of skill points to put into other skills to help complement what you already have, such as Pistoleer, Medic and Scout trees.

Both are completely viable. There are few things that you will not be able to do without CH, however there are many things that will take longer. There are certain things that you cannot do with CH that you can do with Smuggler, but not many. It's a very different play style.

Someone who sees it my way

Never found the excitement of letting a pet run in and fight for you while you stand back and do nothing.

Yeah well why dont you drop smuggler and keep your CH. Then you can run up and acctually attack and take damage with your pets, rather than sitting back and abusing them like all you ranged do. You see i think your pet secretly hate you because you hurt them so. My pets love me.

I can speak from the perspective of being both a TKM and MCH, and I love my build. First off, I don't buff up, and rarely use armor. I only PB when I think it will be a difficult fight.

I am always looking to push my build to the limits in PVE and I am more and more amazed at what I can do.

I experiment with the number of pets I use at once and the different combinations based on special attacks and resists. Biggest mob to date I killed, was an ancient bull rancor using my TMB and just PB, no armor or buffs. The most fun I had in PVEwas accidently aggroing a pack of bile-drenched quenkers (6 total) having 2 pets outs. One advantage in both those situations was the opportunity to step back, have my pets hold aggro and meditate to cure the disease/poison/bleeds. Then come back and finish the fight.

I try and find more creative ways of using my TKA abilities and my pets in PVE. Whatever you decide, do what is most funfor you. TKA and CH are my 2 most favorite classes.

It depends on what your playstyle is. Smuggler allows you to take on some very high level mobs using bleeds and feign death, it also will be a much larger benefit in pvp than CH skills will. With smuggler you can basically stop people from kiting you and allow you the opportunity to close within melee distance. Feign death will also keep you from dying in some situations.

Creature handler on the other hand is very good if you intend to fight groups of enemies. Having a pet tank one or more of the mobs while you take them out one at a time is very useful for things like destroy missions. With the range on our specials at 10m it is very easy to stand behind the pet and let him take the damage while you dish it back out.

You need to drop CH like a band-aid. RIGHT OFF!!

I am a master ch and 2/1/4/4 tka and i have done the smuggler thing before. I think that feign death is extremely useful. In fact I am attempting to gain back my smuggler skills even though i just dropped them.

I will be dropping ch soon, but its sooooo nice to tank with those 2 grauls. (this is why i say do it like a band-aid)

i REALLY think you wont regret dropping ch (ARE YOU EVEN A CH?) if you aren't dont go there! it wont be easy to let go. good luck my friend.

soooo tired.....

and there was much rejoicing...
