Thread: An interesting thing about the new Jedi and TKA / other brawlers.
Take a look at their message boards.. Their main or maybe 2nd main complaint... Getting kited by Bounty Hunters.
LOL
Imagine that.
-------------------------
Give someone an uber gun and allow them to shoot it directly behind them with amazing accuracy all the while running at the same top speed as the person running straight ahead.. Hrmm.. I just can't think of a single way SOE could possibly fix this problem for all melee classes.. Can you?
Reality has no effect on this game sir.. If I were to hit you with a heavy axe you wouldn't run from me
You may look around on the ground for the arm I just chopped off though.
Maybe since Jedi are effected we'll see something done about this issue.
I'm not laughing this time. I completely agree with you.

In what dimension do all humanoids run at the same speed? In what universe are they capable of holding a gun while twisting their torsos 90 degrees, their heads another 90 degrees, stretching their arms out behind them, and running as fast as they can without tripping or losing their balance, and still maintaining the pinpoint accuracy necessary to shoot someone in the eye from 150 feet away?
HAHAHAHA. I'm laughing because I agree.
Sorry pal, there is absolutely no logic in the combat model of this game. Ranged combat was given ALL of the real world advantages with NONE of the real world disadvantages. Melee combat was given ALL of the real world disadvantages with NONE of the real world advantages.
TKA/other brawlers can take up a ranged profession.

Not to flame you or anything, but since it gets brought up a lot about being kited. In real life man, I wouldnt be running after someone trying to punch them if i know theyre packing a gun. I can understand where your coming from from a game standpoint, however when the devs first made the choice, perhaps they were using a little too much logic, as opposed to game-like thinking. Perhaps more than that, a way for a brawler to slow them down. Throw some sand in his eyes to blind him, i dont know something.
i see this come up alot, same thing has been said a thousand times about how you wouldn't chase someone with a gun.
well in RL you probably dont go around chasing anyone with anything let alone a knife, and if you do, chances are people will try to lock you away.
Just so happens balance is not based upon logic, or what someone would not do in rl or not. balance is based off how much you pay SoE per month.
Since we all pay them the same, all combat charecters have the right to have each point spent into a profession on the same level with somone elses point they spent.
Then you have an issue with balance that gets twinked and worked out. That issue is some professions cost less and more then others, and their power is then returned to them in this mannor. Basicly why dabblers are getting the shaft these days, because their points are worth more then a masters points. Why bounty hunters are so strong, but in recent debates it has been said that the bounty hunter spends 217 points to have more power and more skills, then almost every possible of combination of class professions then someone with 250. The only real exception is pure dabbling. pure dabblers can exceed this.
so two things have been raises
1) dabblers
2) power of super elites

I disagree, any melee who does not start within striking range of his opponent should be at a huge disadvantage, simply because IRL you would never live to close with anyone competent with a gun.
That said we should be given some form of "slow" attack. One that if we land slows our opponents down so they cannot get away, kind of like a shot to the knee. With this in place no ranged artist would ever challenge us to a duel on our terms, but we would still be at the mercy of snipers ... which is as it should be.

Hmmmm that quote from Vortex4 is so funny I'll add it to my sig...
No problem with that Vortex ?
Just making a try below
:
Professionss should not be equal. They should be different, have advantages and disadvantages.
