Hi peeps, i'm toying with my template again and was wondering :
Is TKA only (no dabbling, no ranged prof) enough for fun in PVE and acceptance in groups ? I'm TKA/pistol/smuggler right now and might drop pistol to beef up my "crafting side"...
I was only using pistols against kin immune mobs anyway, but i was wondering if kin dmaage only isnt too narrow to be viable in PVE?
Thanx in advance

People will usually accept anyone in a group as long as that person doesn't endanger the group, listens to directions, and manages to stay alive in the fight. Oh and it helps if you can actually hurt what you're fighting.

TKAs are invaluable in a group. Almost everyone has one - perhaps in the exception of non Jedi PvP. When hunting low to medium - high level mobs (Enraged Rancors, low level NS's) TKAs perform well. However the only Kinetic damage output means they do little damage in high end content (Corvette, DWB, etc) but they are still the best tanks in the whole game. Get a TKM fully buffed, Full Adv Comp, take a Synthsteak, and they can soak up a TON of damage.
TKMs are always wanted in PvE groups, just you will have to accept the fact that you'll be the party tank instead of the mass damage dealer in the higher levels. Leave the damage dealing to the Riflemen.

I am a pure TKA with no other dabbling. My other professions are Master Merchant and Artisan. I don't even have novice medic like most people do these days. I picked up 1000 scout instead. I've taken part in the Corvette, Death Watch Bunker, Min raids, and just about everything else heh. I've never had any real problems so long as I come prepared and have a variety of food and spice to deal with things.
I find it a neat challenge seeing what I can handle in PvE with no healing and just one pure combat profession. I don't always win, but its fun trying, and I never, ever feel like I'm lacking
I don't even buff myself 75% of the time too.
Just get some good BE clothing with melee defense and stun defense, a few sets of armor depending on what you are handling, and any defense enhancing items you can get(backpacks, rings, etc). Then just have the usual food and spice and you'll be more than able to compete/work with everyone else
