Quenkers aren't very resistant at all, and in fact their HAM isn't very high and their offense sucks. It almost seems like a bug that they give too much xp (SSSSH! ).

Huurtons are ok but they don't give nearly as much XP as quenkers until you start fighting the harder ones (stalkers, matrons, etc.).

novice brawler... to TKA master.

*clears throat*

pick up novice brawler from your local n00b trainer.... invest 5-10k in a run of the mill VK almost any retarded weaponsmith vendor will have. ...typically around 140-ish max. i think 35ish base damage. 2.2 base speed-ish. get it sliced... hope for a speed slice. become very aquainted with the berzerk ability.

basic low level hunting strategy.

i'd suggest coronet. by asking this question it's fairly obvious you don't know much about the class... killing durni, corellian butterflies, and gubburs for the first block or two will aclimate you to the annoyance of critters that flea at 1-2 HPs remaining.

Basic tactic. ...equip vibro knuckler, hit berzerk. ...attack.

unarmed 1 through 3 shouldn't take you very much time at all. it's always unarmed IV and then novice TKA that're the pain. 1-3 in UA you can probably do without buffs or armor... and with little trouble. just beat up on every weak and defenseless critter you can find.

now... here's where my theory varies from some of the cookie cutter posts on the grind for TKA. ...instead of rushing to dant, buying 80% comp and becoming buff adicted at an early age... stay on one of the low level planets, and hunt some of the local mid range critters.

Corellia or Naboo.

on corellia. head north of coronet... after about 1500-2000 meters outside of town you'll come accross gurrcat, narglatch wrix and other sort of mid-ranged critters. ..all aprox 3k HAM and will net 1k or so of exp per kill... even 700 pts of exp is decent at this point(on Naboo, head the opposite direction of the waterfall... attack those plains cat things, the gualamas, and kaduus). get buffs. ...doc and entertainer buffs. armor if you have it ... but it's not necessary. my two TKA characters are wookiees. and made TKA before the wookiee armor came out... or was widely avail. so it's easily done.

attacking these creatures, with 3k or so HAM and worth 1k of exp is beneficial for several reasons... over the standard, head to dant and hunt quenkers response you usually get.

1 it lets you see a bit of the game before you become a slave to hunting those tried and true dantooine exp grinding critters.

2 they're quick kills. typically do not have natural armor, also that theyrarely death blow, poison, knockdown, dizzy or any of the other annoying things you get from higher order monsters makes them better.

3 it tends to go faster... trust me. there will be plenty of time to kill the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over again... so fast it'll hardly take a minute. ...but when you're still UA IV, not getting much damage out of any attack, and looking at taking down 3-4 8k HAM critters, verses 3-4 3K HAM critters, you'll appreciate the illusion of power.

you can get unarmed IV fairly quickly using this method... i'd say... maybe an hour or so. getting to TKA novice will take a little longer. maybe a buff cycle or two... given how hard and desparate you are to get done.

i advise taking it slow. ..give it a day or two... unarmed IV and novice TKA are a great weekend project.

Once you hit novice TKA... you're practically done. i'd suggest buying a new vibro knuckler... maybe trying to find one with slightly better base damage... or a VK with a good already sliced speed. 30-50k should get you a decent weapon. Also recomend picking up power ups. they go fast with TKA cause ya fling so many damned attacks. but i think the placebo affect alone... of believing you're killing things faster helps you get along.

Basically. Power Tech. 1-4 without a doubt. this will add to the damage of your attacks. an absolute necessity. Also, you pick up Spin attack II somewhere in the tree. And by the time you hit power tech IV you should have the striking/combat exp block III or so. ...which'll give you some acuracy... or speed... or something like that.

as far as what to hunt... well. the game really does open up. once you're 2 or 3 blocks into power tech. without any of it. or just one block you'll still feel pretty worthless. and all your attacks still look pretty lame. but here's your chance to join the sheep out on dantooine, or meet up with them at the convienently located player city next to fort tusken.

quenkers... in their most basic form. are good experience. as mentioned, have weak defenses... die quick enough, and mission payouts aren't all that bad.

hurtonns ... almost the same exact deal, but they tend to run more and spawn more babies from lairs. ...so untill you're hunting stalkers, i'd stick with quenkers

Bols, and bol pack leaders... are an often times ignored TKA critter. i think both types are still easy enough to kill. it's only the seething bol crushers that have decent resists.

some people say pickets. but they always seem to take too dang long. same with the vorittors. ...so if you're on dant, stick with the tried and true. qunkers, and hurtonns, when you need money... Mok and Janta missions. Depending on your server... dantooine normally has a player city with an "improved job market" which will make the mission pay out more... so try and find out which town that is...

once you get to power tech IV i'd say go after the specials you think you'd like....and leave meditate till last. the healing benefits of meditate really don't kick in untill master, and power boost i think is fairly piddly untill master level as well.

use your spin attack gained from power tech. and the ham specific attacks in the striking lines to finish off critters if need be. I was also fond of combo two... but mainly stuck to spin and body strike. ...and sometimes action strike because i liked to see my wookiee stomp on something.

After power Tech, it really is a breeze. after the combat exp tree is filled out your defenses are fairly decent. you can sometimes manage without armor at all as a TKA. Slaughtering rancors isn't that difficult either... i'd say if you're 2 out of 4 trees done... you're probably ready to make a stab at rancors. the geo caves, or dathomir powerhunting in general.

begin to search out which monsters are paying out slightly better in exp and which are paying out less. for example... the weak quenkers will start to pay out less exp. move up to ravagers, or relic reapers. from hurtons, and hurtonn matrons, to howlers, huntresses, and stalkers. ...slip in the Mok and Janta missions more frequently. if you're at fort tusken, avoid the commoners and raiders... and focus on kill stealing only the captains, warlords and other high level tuskens. etc etc etc

so in summation.

get novice brawler... get a speed sliced VK ...go up to something piddly, hit berzerk, and then attack, wait for it to die. this should get you to UA III fairly quick. fight slightly less piddly things using the same tactic to get UA IV... and novice TKA if you're brave... otherwise plug away at the stupid quenkers already.

once at TKA novice... focus entirely on the power tech tree. get another VK ifn you want. look into armor... get used to always having buffs. entertainers are your friends... so apparently is booze and other foodstuffs.(vasarian brandy, canape, sythsteak, etc etc). Get power tech IV. and then go to town

i'd recommend meditate as last but not least skill tree. but whatever... do what ya like.

quenker missions are good. fort tusken, ...and when you're a little older. geo caves, rancor hunting(lesser sarlacc is usually packed with rancors...consult the POI tab in your datapad) switch up and out to more difficult critters when you feel the ones you're attacking aren't a challenge. by that time... nothing will probably be a challenge, and you're just wasting your time fighting the piddly stuff.

solo groups are a way of life these days.... learn 'em. and abuse 'em.

make friends with doctors, and entertainers... even buff bots, get 'em on your friends list. and tip for christs sake. ...tip because you'll never be want of money as a TKA...at master you can litterally blow through rancors or mok missions at 30-40k each. and wrack up a million + credits a buff cycle easily.

keep an armorsmith and tailor handy too... never know when the urge to try something other than "cool in black" might strike ya.

and have fun... TKA is a vastly overpowered profession. it's attacks at master are quick and powerful. a dedicated mind attack, a dizzy and knockdown combo. pretty decent stand alone defenses... charge into battle... take the lead. stick up and stand tall..blah blah blah.

hope this helps.
