i saw in another post that this template could stand toe to toe with jedi.
Is it any good? Tkm and smuggler seems pretty fun esspecially when you can slice your very own katarn.
How are the moves from smuggler with tkm like last ditch (if its a move that can be used with unarmed).
This seems like a really nice template but the only problem i can see is no healing only healing with stim d's.

I'm also curious about this. I'm a MSmuggler / MTKA / MBrawler / NFencer / NSwordsman / NPolearm. When you say this is a Jedi killer, what exactly do you mean? I like Smuggler because I can slice-n-spice, but all of his moves are ranged weapon based, right? Anyone have any insight on this?

Well, I was hoping to learn a few tips or tactics that apparently I don't already have, in regards to my profession being a "Jedi Killer" (which I don't feel we are). If anyone can enlighten me, it would be most appreciated...

Wiedoe is just that, TKM / MS and until I added Master Brawler it wasn't very powerful. The two masteries do not really compliment each other very well at all, as it seams that you only have the 'inate' armor is when you are unarmed, (or equiped with an unarmed weapon (unarmed weapon, that's funny to me)). What happens is you are either aTKM or a Smuggler with multiple personality disorder. It is a fun roleplay, and you have a good versitle group role, and I can solo up 2 3 lvl 80s with a lot of creative special use, but I don't think it is the ultimate jedi dueler.

If you don't go all Ranged or all Melee you are hurting your self =/ since you can't use any attacks from smuggler besides feign death with TK. I love my Smuggler/TK though.

uhm innate armor DOES work while having something other than an unarmed weapon equipped. it very much should work while holding a pistol. ive heard of a few bugs involving equipping/unequipping armor that takes away your innate even after you completely remove your armor; i think that may have happened to you.

Agree, Improved CoB, innate armor, etc do function when I equip my flamethrower...

As a MSmuggler + TKM, can't you test that yourself?

Not odd, just says you have more defence and there took less damage, check your charactor sheet.
I have +25 ranged / +25 Melee added when i go from Power Hammer to Unarmed. Thats why when im resting action or rooted, I go unarmed while I take little damage. ![]()

Just logon and did a test.
With a pistol armed no TKM or Brawler attacks are possible, (even COB) you get the little X in the icon and a system message telling you can't preform that action with the current weapon.
Now it gets interesting with the armor. I used a roo-roo on Kash. First, Inate armor does seem to work with a pistol equiped. Now this is the odd part: The damage the roo-roo did to me changed when I changed weapons. With a pistol, it did 65 points to me every attack, of which I absorbed 31 with my inate armor. After unequiping the pistol and standing there unarmed, the roo-roo did a clockwork 59 points of damage, of which I absorbed 28 points with my armor. I ran 3 sets of 10 attacks with each configuration, and all were the same untill I killed the poor fellow, at which time his corpse did 54 pionts of damage that I soaked 24 points of with the armor.
So Armor does now work with ranged weapons. I can't test if COB works with heavy weapons as I don't have any and am not sure if I can use them, but it does not work with ranged.
But I have stumbled onto something odd about the damage.

How to get CoB to work with ranged weapons is to make a macro that unequips your ranged weapon, hits CoB, then reequips your ranged weapon every 45 sec. The effect is very noticable and CoB functions as normal as long as it is applied when you are unarmed.

That would seem to border on exploiting, as I'm sure it was not meant to work that way. I'm not bashing it mind you, just clearing my karma while write that macro
