Hey people I am back from a year ago! Well...I won't be playing now either unless I can buy a new video card but I will play as soon as I can. Anyway I have several questions if anyone could please help.
Is there a character builder for CU? I need something to help me sort out my template or I will be so confused.
Somewhere, I don't have a link at hand at the moment but I believe Kodan's Char Builder has been updated, it's located on the Bloodfin site somewhere.
What the heck is a katarn?
Boss level mob on Kashyyyk
Does innate armor depend on the weapon you use?
No, the only thing that effects Innate armour is other armour.
What does CL depend on exactly? I logged onto my main character I used to play which had mastered many, many prof and his CL is only 64. His spec is pretty dabbling, is that why?I mean...could I actually lower my CL even more if I respec with my points even more spread out? Could I raise it by getting master of two elites? I only get one respec as far as I can tell.
I am confused...does a person with all of his 250 points in several profs and is not cl 80 ever get cl 80? Do you gain CL after your points are all used?
CL is based on Xp spent on combat skills (I think), while you can get CL80 if you dable the most effecient way to get it is by Mastering two combat (including Medic & Scout based) proffesions.
Thx for any help at all! Epecially the spec builder--that would be very helpful!
& Welcome back.
Hey thx again. You're making this too easy!
I found the character calculator; it is perfect except for now I have thought of something else I'd like to calculate...
So while were on the subject of answering my every question (=
Anyone know of a DPS calculator? One of these might not be very accurate for CU yet. I remember using one that could compare every damage multiplier and HAM cost of every special and then calculate your damage of each special and DPS when you entered your weapon damage and speed. Man that thing was awesome. Is that still around?
If no one knows of such a calculator, how about a website which at least diagrams or lists all of the damage multipliers and possibly A/M costs? It could also include what specials are cross-proximity meaning which ranged specials can be done with amelee weapon and vice versa.
Also...once I buy a spacecraft...how do I get to kashyyk? My travel map shows no such planet so where do I go to initialize its location? I do have the expansion registered.
Hopefully this thread will be helpful for other old-timers hehe. Anyone else a long lost galaxies vet? If so, ask away--mankind is on a roll! Seriously I appreciate the help
Example...a VK does 100-200 damage and has a speed of 2.5. The base DPS on this would be 60.
However, SAC is almost (if not more so) important when looking at a weapon's potential. If you have two identical VKs, one with a 94SAC, the other with a 100SAC, then the 94SAC will deal out more damage before you tire out. That's why someone on the Weaponsmith forums came up with a new measure called DPA (Damage Per Action).
A good measure that I use to calculate DPA is
DPA = DPS/SAC
This would give the 94SAC VK a DPA of 0.63, and the 100SAC VK a DPA of 0.6.
When looking at the higher end weapons, the difference can be higher. For example, a PH with 300-900 dmg and 1.2 modded speed has a DPS of 500 (random numbers picked). With a 110SAC, you get a DPA of 4.54. If you can get a PH with 250-850 dmg and the same modded speed, but with a 94SAC, you end up with a DPA of 4.87 even though it has a DPS of 458.
Since no move costs health any more they can't be called HAM Costs really & so most people call it either Ability Points or SAC (Special Action Cost).
Also Bloodfin.org Download section is where Kodan's char builder is. (it's the one at the top you want, V4.05) The one I have is up to date (at least enough so for planing most aspects of a template) & I think the one here is as well.
Thx guys.
Thats cool that you have to do something that the public travel starships cant do--lightspeed jump. I look forward to this but unfortunately I have decided to save my money this summer and wait until I go back to school and I can use my computer. But I will retain this info.
I will use this formula and I appreciate it and it is probly my only option but I was hoping for a calculator for doing such things ya know? Anyone know of one?
