Thread: Is anyone else annoyed??
Im pretty annoyed right now with the SWG programmers. Im really wondering how the heck they let the new KD/Dizzy effect exploit get through to the patch. I was ticked off when they nerfed KD back then even quit the game over it. Came back when they did the next major patch when they upped our damage. During that time I made master TK. Now they go and make a patch like this that is awesome in many ways for us, Powerboost is a great addition to our class. But im seriously disappointed with Sony for allowing the DIzzzy/KD junk make it through the Test center without fixing it.
I dont want us to be ubber to the point that the game is not fun. I want a challenge and it ticks me off that they go a drop the ball again. I really am starting to question their ability to do a decent patch.
I dont need UA exp or combat exp anymore so its not really gonna effect me, and I know many will say"Well you dont have to use it", but the point is they should have never allowed it through in the first place.

is it possible for you to define what exactly you mean by.... "let it get through"
are oyu not aware that it was intended in this patch for KD to actually do somthing.....
if that angers you then it seems have a personal issue you may want to look into, its a game thats all no
need to sotrm off nor rant and raid about anything.
nuff said.....
/more of topic crap that shouldn't be here
i love your pants. that is of course if they are supposed to be from charlie and chocolate factory. awesome movie. i have his pants too.
It feels strange to agree with you, but I do believe you are correct asland. The dizzy affect lasts far too long on players in PVP. Basically dizzy+KD = instant win, no matter who you were fighting. What fun is that?
I was hoping to see something more like:
* You can do KD on a creature or player once per 30seconds
* the knockdown move causes a 2-5 second delay before the person can fight again.
* The dizzy effect lasts for 5 seconds on both creatures and players once they have been knocked down or postured down and have attempted to stand.
This way it would be useful, but not completely immobilizing. I have to think that the way KD+dizzy works after the patch is a bug that will be corrected shortly.

P.S. I love Xeonus' shoes, I have a pair just like them!
Maybe I didnt really express myself well enough..
1) Im hearing reports of people soloing 4 or 5 Clan Witches at once. Was this intended?? Do we really want to go back to the days of mindless one move wins to a fight. I hated when they nerfed KD but after getting use to the changes I enjoyed my class far more. If this is a bug then im really wondering how it could get through TC without being fixed. If this was intended then they just made TK into the mindless one hit winning class again. Everyone will powerlevel to TKM to get the one shot wonder KD2. I dont want that. I dont want my class to once again be defined by one move.
2) PVP I actually tested last night and people were lying on the ground for 2 to 3 min without an ability to get up.Was this intended?? If so then PVP has become the fastest KD game again that it was 2 months ago. It takes zero talent to hit KD2 or dizzy/KD before you opponent can. I dont like that. It takes away from the gaming experience long term.
If all of this was intended then we are back to square one of TK or any class for that matter that has dizzy being too powerful. I want to be powerful and I want to be feared, but I dont want to be feared because I have one move.
I don't post often but this really just upset me. I hope you are right about this not being intended. I dont know enough about game programing or networking to know if this could have been forseen in the TC. But if it was intended then this game just dropped 10 level in funability(is that a word?) Let hope they fixed it.
On a happier note I absoluetly love the changes to Powerboost. For those of you that have it,it will make our problems with Mind shots and such easier to deal with. They will work out the bugs with stats migrations and buffs stacking with Powerboost im sure, and when they do we will be a very happy community from that stand point.

ps Yes the Asland name is a refrence to Aslan in Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I too love the series, those were the books that hooked me on reading. The Symbolism in the series is awesome too..
all knockdown moves are bugged right now.
the target stays on the ground and cant stand up again.
this has nothing to to with dizzy, nothing to do with the class tka.
Well that is good news then. May I ask where you heard this? /takes a deep breath

I agree on both counts Asland:
PowerBoost really helps, and is not insanely overpowered. As for Dizzy. Erm. it helps, that's for sure.
What's that in the sky? It's a Bird, it's a plane! No, It's a DEV with a Nerf Bat!

Good points my friend.
This got me thinking... If the changes to PVP is in fact sticking then how would that effect us long term. Lets assume that the KD stuff right now is a bug and will be fixed. If they leave combat at the level it is right now then Im not entirely sure its a bad things for us.
Not sure about anyone else but Im able to take most anyone out in 3 seconds if I get close(and thats a big IF) but when I do get close enough to hit for 3 seconds I own them everytime. So if Damage is decreased 75 percent like it seems to be, we will be getting hit far far less but since when we do get into our ideal range we tear them up this will not effect us as much. Because even witha 75% decrease we will still be able to hit their mind pool alot harder than they will be doing to us. Im not sure if we will still be able to take out people in 3 seconds if this sticks, i would think more like 8 seconds. Perhaps we will have to get in our good attacks twice as oppose to once like it is now.
One thing is for sure, if the PVP damage stays like it is now, fights are gonna be lasting a very long time. It will give us even less reason to chase people around trying to hit them, burst run will run out long before we can finish them off. So just find a nice safe spot and wait for them to enter our enviroment, because no one beats us when we get into close spaces, well maybe Commandos.
If anyone sees a confirmation from Developers on exactly which were a bug and which were in fact truth let us know. Remeber back when they nerfed KD to the point that it killed us if we wore our virbors?? I thought at the time that it was surely a bug of some sort that they couldnt have intitionally made HAM use that high, but I was wrong it was intended and it did stay around a long time. Which got me thinking that perhaps all of this stuff was not a bug but perhaps was INTENDED. And I dont know about you but that just puts a bitter taste in my mouth.

it is probably a bug right now considering the data.
pvp note:
think of pvp for TKM right now w/o the kd2 working as it is. one one side once we get em down, the games over. on the other hand if we cant keep them down, they continue to kite, and eventualy we lose, in every case except the ones where people play stupidly.
now other melee class's that are not TKMs and do not have KD, what the patch has done to them is make them useless in a sense, unless they have medic, and alot of it. heck just about any class as it stands now w/o medic is less of a charecter. im pvp that is.
decreased dmg:
that could really be the main concern considering no one is exspecting this KD change to last long. armor isn't even working right now according to many reports. does that mean when this is all fixed TKMs make better onlookers then participants?
>>Well that is good news then. May I ask where you heard this? /takes a deep breath
i have a smuggler/pistoleer/bounty hunter and tka/doctor.
all knockdowns work this way now, lowblow, pistolwhip, unarmed knockdown - the target stays on the ground when knocked down. i can lowblow a gang of 5 desert razorbacks and kill them after that, which takes about 5 minutes or something. not a single one will stand up in the whole time.
same with pistolwhip.
same with unarmed knockdown 1.
same with unarmed knockdown 2.
dizzy is not involved there at all.
See the problem there is many classes have a Dizzy and knockdown, now granted they arent tied together like KD2 but many classes have both. They stick Dizzy then hit their KD and its the same thing we are talking about here, only it takes an extra second or so to get it done.
As per PVP I dont want to go back to the KD feastival it use to be, even if it means they kite my butt around the galaxy. Ive decided I will not chase someone anymore, they run I find a confortable building to sit in till they come a looking. When their big head pops in I do what I can. Im hoping Sony will adress the out of range problem at some point. They know its a problem and they have made refrence to fixing the problem. So im patient enough to wait for that.
I would tend to agree that the KD2 as it is now has got to be a bug of some sort. I just question how the heck it coul dhave gotten released in this format.
