Ok guys and gals..

I hated the grind to unarmed 4, seems everything killed me

During the grind to TKA novince I kind of developed a method of leveling faster then I used to. Ok ok, not really "my" method, more like a conglomerate of methods found in this forum....

This is what I did and what I am doing now to get XP fast, also I would like your suggestions on where / what I should do from here:

1. Get Vibro Knuckles - you are not cert until TKA nov, but the speed bonus alone is well worth it.

2. Get a pet - do not use this pet for tanking, just have it grouped to get a 10% to 20% xp bonus (driods work too but you can't heal them if they do get hit - I got nov CH and use a Greater Sludge Panther, good tank but most of the time she watches me fight). Try to keep yourpet out of the fight, the more damage your pet does, the less XP you get.

3. Get Medical Skills - this is ESSENTIAL if you are going to survive, at least get Pharm 2 so you can use Stim B's - there are usually a ton of them on the bazzar dirt cheap. Make sure to get the good ones (heal more then 250) or you will zipp you mind pool in a fight trying to heal yourself.

4. Don't Spam Specials - this is a hard one to understand, specials drain you fast (especially with a VK equiped). Typically I do a HealthShot (pistol 4 skill) to make them bleed (bleeding does not lower your XP). Then in order I do the following: Blind Attack, Stun Attack, Bizerk - heal as needed while in Bizerk mode. Also if you have gotten the message "you must target another player" while trying to heal, it is because you have a NPC targeted, press CTRL-1 to target yourself before you try to heal.

5. Fight Smart not hard - after the "patch of doom" in October, MOBs that did not pack hunt now do. In short, learn what type of MOBs will aggro (as a group) on you. Also never never fight anything that does not CON at least white to you, the XP is not worth the effort.

Here is a short list of what I fight for XP - please note these do not "pack hunt" (unless noted), but there is a new NPC type called a "scout" (like Dune bantha Scout), the scout class will get the rest of the mob to aggro on you so kill the "scout" first. Also this list is localized to Tattooine. Also the XP listed is when I have a pet grouped.

Womp Rat - 300 XP

Cu Pa - 400 XP

Bantha - 2000 XP

Dune Bantha - 1200 XP

Giant Wort - 700 XP

Mountain Wort - 2000 XP

Desert Eopie - 1000 XP

Tuskan bantha (they pack and aggro) - 2500 XP

Tuskan Commoner (they pack and aggro) - 1500 XP

Tuskan Raider (they pack and aggro) - 2500 XP

Tuskan Sniper (they pack and aggro) - 2800 XP

Tuskan Captain (this guy hits HARD, heal often) - 3000 XP

Using the method I outlined and fighting the above MOBs I went from unarmed 4 to Nov TKA (skills 0,0,2,1) in about 2 and a half days of casual gaming (I am not a power gamer).

I have been focusing on the Power tree for the damage and speed bonuses. at 0,0,2,1 i can solo a tuskan sniper with little problem.

I plan on going up to power 4 before I even worry about the other skills - I have as much damage and speed as possible before I worry about knock down or meditation.

Right now I average (normal attacks not specials) about 400 to 500 points of damage per punch, and I have seen Unarmed Hit 2 smack a Cu Pa in the head for 2800 points damage (man that was sooo cool).

My question to all of you is what should I fight for more XP? I mean using my method, to get Power 3 I need 370,000 points and would have to kill 370 desert eopie to get that. I am having fun with TKA and don't want this to turn into a "grind xp for 4 days".

Call me picky, but can you guys please list MOBs (with avg XP and Planets) that don't "group aggro"?

Thanks

Just FYI, you dont need pharm 2 to use stim B's. You can use them at novice medic.

You got it all wrong

Firstly you needn't waste any skill points on Pharmacology if you want to use Stim Pack Bs as the required med use to use them is only 5, which yu get as a Novice Medic.

Yes, Get a pet, and use him too. Send your pet to attack, and let him deal and absorb a little damage before you attack. Then go running up and pick the hardest mob first and use KD on him and then spam hit2 (I decided to go for Master Power Techniques before anything else, but looking back on it, getting KD1 would have been better because of how much more damage you deal while a mob/npc is knocked down). Heal yourself then move onto the next mob. Do this until all are dead, then heal your pet and move onto the next mission. To be most successful at this should should constantly have a HUGE supply of Muon Gold and the highest quality Stims (with FA4 to get better efficiancy out of your stims) you can get, to guarantee a FULL heal for each use. Always Take Muon Gold before doing missions (btw Muon Gold is bugged, but thats another issue ).

Save up and get yourself as many of the best quality VKs as you can, and get them all sliced by a master slicer who uses 98%+ slicing tools. You should be aiming for a good HAM or damage slice. If you can get the Damage up to 178 like I did, you'll be laughing. Good VKs are anything that damages up to 135 with a 38or39% wound chance and a speed of 2.1. Slices for speed are useless as you easily reach the one second speed cap in unarmed. By getting the highest damage, it makes losing that much HAM worth it.

Next, you need to LEAVE Tatooine and goto Dantooine to solo some Huurton missions, Huurton Matrons are the best, as they don't DB you, all other Huurtons do. If you do them you'll easily be getting over 4k xp per kill and around 8k cash per mission and there are plenty in a lair to kill.

Once you have Power 4 and KD, get some faction troopers and your pet, group them and pull some Piket Protector missions. Use the same tactics to kill them, there is no real difference. You also get good Herbivore meat from these and can be very valuable to a Doc making stims, and could maybe even trade the meat you get for some good stims. About 50 stim packs per 10k of meat is good just make sure that the stims heal well over 400. Piket Protector missions pay around 17k too, so good cash for them. This is what i did, and got TKM very fast.

Hope this helps, IMO its by far the fastest way to lvl.

Speed slice is the way to go if youre leveling up the unarmed tree. Damage slice wont make a difference as youre not certified for the weapon yet. A HAM reduction wont mean anything either, in the unarmed tree there arent any specials worth using for the HAM cost you must pay.

A good speed slice combined with berserk is the way to go for the unarmed tree.

I'm hunting Huurtons ATM (well, not right at this moment) and have been incapped a couple of times. No death blow though. I average around 20 - 30K experience for each pair of missions, with a non fighting pet and don't need to use spices or food. I do need a LOT of Sim pack B's though

Better yet all the missions are within 800 - 1500M of base camp so quite quick, useful for us casual players!

Spuzzed, I quite agree, IF he was lvling in unarmed go for speed slice on VKs and use Beserk

BUT

As the title says, he's lvling in TKA, so Damage is what he needs.

Kola, try using Muon Gold and fighting piket protectors, you need to be teamed (I used a graul and 1 or 2 storm commandos) to get the missions. You then get usually around 5100 each and the lairs spawn a lot of them.

Whatever anyone does, its all about KD and spam hit2, then use Warcry if they manage to get up from the KD, then use a stim and swiftly move to the next mob.

This may or may not work for you..but i certainly works for me.

Before I give my method some one mentioned getting a weapon sliced by a master smuggler who uses 98% weapon upgrade kits...just to clarify....slicing is totally random and the resources\quality of items used have nothing to do with the results......ok....now for what I do:

1. Head out to Dantooine

2. Take 2 Piket Longhorn missions (10k each....20k for me bc ima slicer)

3. Most lairs are the same. Initial spawn is 2 picket longhorns and 1 normal picket. Sometimes there are 3 picket longhorns....this is where it gets challenging (longhorns are social to other longhorns and pikets....regular pickets are not social with longhorns...so getting 3 longhorns can be a tough pull if they are close)

4. In a 2 longhorn\1normal piket scenario....pull one of the longhorns....KD and fully debuff (Stun, Blind, Intimidate, Warcry). Arm knucklers and UH2 until it gets up (if warcry sticks it will not get up for awhile...maybe long enough to finish it off). Each longhorn spits out about 4k XP and the normal piket yields about 3k XP.

5. Once the initial spawn is gone hit the lair once and peace immediately. It will start to spawn another set of Pikets (3 again...normally a mix of 2 longhorns and 1 regular). Wait until it is done spawning all 3! When it is done begin pulling and taking them down.

6. Once the 2nd spawn is out of there you can beat up the lair until about 35000 HAM is left....then the last spawn will happen. Once that spawn is done finish the lair.

unarmed XP yielded per lair = 41,000XP (5xp for the lair itself)

combat XP yielded per lair = about 4,000 i believe...maybe more.

Total from two missions completed is 80,000+ unarmed XP, 8,000+ combat XP, and about 20,000+ credits for you non-smugglers (40,000+ for the smuggler\tkas).

Just to lay it out...this works for me....there may be better out there...but longhorns are not aggro...so pulling is pretty easy. I do have the advantage to feign death when I need to..but i normally dont need to...oh....and they done DB.

Enjoy

oh yea.....this requires no pets at all. I do have novice CH...but i do intend on dropping it at some point...so learning how to solo without it is important to me......anyhow...there ya go.

I like the Picket idea. Can you do the Huurton missions without a pet?

For healing, just make a macro that does /healdamage self

then you don't have to worry about targetting yourself to heal.
