How does melee defense work? Is it a straight percentage reduction of melee damage taken?
I saw the unarmed defense thread, and it is a straight percentage reduction.

How do they work in conjunction? If melee defense is a straight percentage, do they each work as a separate "layer" if you will of armor, or do they stack? IE. 20% off then another 15% off the reduced number (68dmg of a 100dmg hit), or if they stack 35% off the initial number (65dmg of a 100dmg hit).

Thanks for any help in explaining how these two mods work!

Since you already know about toughness I won't bother with that, for defense as far as anyone knows its supposed to lower ur opponents chance to hit you, though it sure doesn't seem to make much difference in my eyes.

Yes I believe it works as such:

Example:

Red attacks Blue for 400 Damage - 15% Defense = 340 Damage

or

Red attacks Blue for 400 Damage -15% Defense = 340 Damage - 35% Armor Defense = 200 Damage

Keep in mind I was just pulling random rumbers but that is an idea of the defense system in place. You can take note in your Combat line the amount of damage suffered and how much your armor defense works for you. It does not mention normal defense because that is a calculation worked out with your foe if that makes any sence.
