I have to ask because I really don't know myself...I heard earlier something about "aggro" I'm assuming that means Aggressive. What I'm wondering is how much better does my characterdo attacking a foot away compared to 1meter away? Is there a difference or is it a very slight difference that you shouldn't be bothered with?

When you get aggro'd by a mob it means the mob focuses it's attention on you ( usually to your detriment ). One of the factors determining what a mob aggros on is proximity. In short, if you're further away from say an attacking pet, it's likely they will be higher on the mob's aggro list than you.
