Thread: incapping myself with powerboost too much--help!

i use powerboost and often get incapped when it drops. usually it's from mind, but occasionally it drops while i'm losing action dancing and splat...currently at worst it's annoying and it's sometimes amusing, but if item decay on incap goes in i'm going to lose my sense of humor quickly.
anyone have some tips to share on how not to kill yourself?
how long does it last? is it a consistent duration so i could incorporate a warning into a macro?
(i've already figured out that after incapping from losing PB followed by force of will, don't accidentally hit your PB macro.)

are you wearing a helmet? and what are your stats migrated to?

i'm going to look into Raspi's excellent PB warning macro and that should help me quite a bit.
i don't wear a helmet (with the stuff i usually fight, it helps more than it hurts). my mind stats are about 1100 (700, 700)--pretty much the max for my species. i guess i just need to pay more attention.
it's really humiliating to be incapacitated doing an entertainer mission. HUMILIATING!
no other skill will let you attempt it if you don't have enough pool points, but PB does. you succeed and get a brief incap (brief because of the regen rate after PB). i wonder if this is a bug. i'd really prefer a check on that.

This has occurred to me several times, hehe. I have a constant IV running powerboost into my veins. The only thing that has helped is getting the warning Macro, when that baby goes off its time to make a TACTFUL retreat..[read] Haull asssss and rest before it hits.
The real problem with me is I'm usually off soloing for days at a time 10,000 meters away from any cloning center and really blows when I incap myself and have to go on a nature walk to get back to business. Even though I know no one is looking I always look over my shoulder as if someone saw that dumbass self incap and auto DB.

hehe!
the other day i DOUBLE incapped myself right in front of someone. i was running along to town working on a mind skill when i had my downer. without thinking i used force of will before the downer was over so i hit the dirt again.
really confused the guy because i incapped twice and lost every HAM bar. not much will do that to ya!
