Thread: A few TKM questions, seeking answers within...

Ok, I'm aware that these questions could probably be answered if I trall through 9 or more pages of threads... but I'm lazy so I'll just start a new thread. :

I'll be TKM very soon and I'd like to know a few things:

1. Which will be more effective in PvP/PVE; Speed slice VK, Damage slice VK or bare fists?

2. What's a good HAM setup for a trandoshan? I'm finding it frustrating with secondary action stats being maxed at around 400/450 because I can't get hold of decent ubese armour so I'm currently using Composite (even sliced it's a pain).

3. Assuming I decide to go pure combat with my professions, which one would complement TKM best in regard to defence?

I'm curious because I'm contemplating becoming perma overt for PVP, but I don't want to jump into it in a haphazzard fasion.

1 => at master I would say damage slice VK or Low HAM VK if you aren't buffed.

2 => Mind pool at 1000 or 1100. For the other secondarie stats use some food.

3 => master brawler and check the Fencer tree, one line increase your melee/ranged defence, one other your KD defence and the Tech line your defence versus dizzy, blind etc. ( I dont recall all the skill name but you can check yourself )

Note : it's only my humble advice.

Thanks for your advice. Yes I was checking out the fencer tree and it has some great deffensive mods, dabbling in fencer wouldhopefullygive me an edge overanyone whothinks I'm just a TK with lowdizzy/KD etc. defence.

I still don't know if I want to focus on combat though, having learnt Teras Kasi I feel quitesatisfied that I'm potent in combat and I'm thinking of takingup a crafting profession for those days when I don't feel like kicking arse.

Another question I forgot to add...

Since I can't find a suit of elusive advanced 70%+ kinetic ubese, I'm going to have to wear either composite or advanced composite. I've found two vendors that are selling armour that's caught my eye. One is selling advanced composite base resistances 51% and 61% special lighting resist, the other is selling composite base resistances 51% with 80% special kinetic and (i think) 61% special lighting resist. Which one would be best in the long run?

Even if I get the basic composite sliced the encumberance will still be higher than the advanced composite without a slice and I will struggle to wear a full suit without food/spice/doctor buffs. However, the 80% kinetic resist looks very appealing...

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions? Thanks.

Wellyes Irealise it would be a challange, I won't be able to bowl into a city without a care in the world, I'll have to be extra careful and keep an eye out for those sly imperials.

sits, what server are you on? i cna def get u 70% ubeses on chilastra.

im low lvl TK atm, but form my BH/psitoleer days i know that composite armor with other resits besides kinetic helps a lot in PvP. acid and energy (vs BH/rifelmen) are espcially important for the helmet, and heat (vs commando) especially for the chest/upperbody parts. im by no means a TKM, so im nto speaking from experience, but a enc sliced helmet and chest plate shoudl really help you out in PvP id imagine.

No idea but one more advice, for your helm, look for a composite helm with stun defense ( helpfull against jawa iron rifle , stun baton etc ).

Buy both and check it out if you have the credits.

Here is a suggestion for a teplate with both crafting and non-crafting while still be being pretty potent in PvP. Master TKA (obviously), Master Pistoleer (for some more defence mods and some pistol speed and accuracy for smuggler) and Master Smuggler (for the best pistol specials in the game ie. ranged knockdown, ranged delay so that you can be beating on them as soon as you get to them and preventing them from kiting you. Smuggler also has the spice crafting line which is semi-broken atm but will probably be fixed with there revamp thingy next month and the slicing line).

Not to mention when going up against the 80% kinetic composite you can pull out a tangle pistol for some stun damage.

I am personally going for this combo and am enjoying it immensly although I still have not mastered them all.

we on chilastra are so blessed when it comes to armor. i knwo someone that makes 73/74% kinetic ubese, with really low ham unsliced. acompositer there is just everything you could ever want, i love it.

I'm on chimaera. I can't find decent ubese because apparently high quality wooly hide isnt available and all the armoursmiths I've spoken to consider using the wooly hide to make high kinetic ubese a 'waste'. Bah.
