I'm at 2-4-4-3 TKA and like to go to Ft Tusken or other places and earn XP. When I first started, I would fully buff and wear my speed sliced VKs. I would run into the middle of several NPCs and draw the agro to myself while several ranged professions would sit back in relative safety shooting at the targets. I was averaging about 1-3K per kill.
Then I started hearing complaints about 'D-A-M-N TKAs'?!? Now I have removed my VKs and sometimes don't use any specials. This is in an attempt to provide the ranged professions with some XP while not doing all the damage myself.
My question is: What is proper TKA etiquette for these large spawn areas? Leaving aside that fact that it appears to be 'every man/women for himself'. I would still like to be a valuable member of the group, but not a kill hog.

I got that problem yesterday, when hunting rancors. A noob (i mean a guy with no elite skills) said me "**edit** TKA WOOKIEE !!!". Because i got 5kxp per kill, when he got 600xp. (but i want to say, i wasnt the only one who got such quantity of xp.)

Usually at Fort Tusken I'll only jump into a fight already-in-progress if I see that the person fighting is getting housed. And then I'll jump in with a...believe it or not.../taunt and then a few debuffing moves, to give the other guy a chance to catch up. Then we'll finish the fight together.
If someone jumps in on a fight *I* started, I don't hold back. Mainly cuz it's my fight, and if they wanna get some xp off of them, they can get whatever they can. If they stand back and assist in the fight, so much the better.
I usually try not to jump into fights that are 1/2 over or more, simply because I can find something better to do with my time than the 500xp I'd get from 1/2 a fight anyway.
If it's a 1:1 and it's evenly balanced, I'll even ask if they mind if I help. I know, takes time to do, but courtesy isn't always convenient.

The fort is survival of the fittest. TKA's are no differnt then having acommando come by and flame dot what ever you are attacking. People who complain should not be there solo or group up and out damage you. Life is hard out there in the wilderness.

The solution is simple. Next time, don't tank and let them face 5 angry Tusken's by themselves.

Find a group that doesn't whine and let the ranged folks take them down without your tanking.
They seem to forget that you are taking the beating so they can just blast with zero risk.
They don't like you then leave. It's simple. After a few DB's from the Tuskens maybe they won't be such complainers.

The times I've been there the TKAs and TKMs were very much appreciated for tanking by the ranged classes (except maybe the commandos doing flame cone)...
I've never gotten a negative comment whilst whooping tusken ass at close range.
