Thread: Meditation as a Medic Replacement and Other Trees

Hello ... first posting in the TKA forum. I am a master smuggler / pistoleer, and decided to take some TKA skills, but not master. I'm at Meditation III right now. I also have Medic 2/1/0/0 and Scout 4/0/0/0

Basically, my question is this ... how much does master meditative techniques act as a medic replacement? I took the medic skills I have in order to heal some of my own wounds, but not anything serious. I've heard that master meditative tech heals state effects and wounds rather quickly ... but it is enough to replace the medic skills I have now? In other words ... can I dump the medic skills when I master meditation?

Also ... assuming that I dump the medic skills and get back the 22 skill points ... what one other tree should I master? I've read some other threads and it seems like there's an argument for both balance and power, although personally i'm partial to master precision in order to get the head strike that i'm lacking in other professions. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you for looking.

Heya!

I am a 4/3/2/2 TKA at the moment. The meditation line is great for healing wounds and states such as bleed, disease, and poison. The only thing is that it does not heal them super fast. I think I med away 10 or 12 points of wounds every few seconds while meditating. It does clear the bad states very quickly though.

Personally I would keep Novice Medic and use nicely made Stim B's to keep myself healed. I shudder at the thought of having no healing at all...

I hope that helps!

Meditate 4 is not a replacement for medic.

While you can:

Slow / Stop Bleeds

Slow / Stop Disease & Poison

...you cannot cure "state effects". As a matter of fact, you cannot meditate when a state effect has been applied to you (stun, dizzy, blind, etc.), you have to wait for it to wear off.

Meditate 4 does heal wounds quite effectively, but it does not effect damage in any way, shape, or form.

Novice medic is still a very necessary additon to any combat template. Any with only with at least Medic 2/0/0/0 will you be able to stop bleeds in combat.

If your looking for skill points I would suggest dropping some scout skills. All bonuses to terrain negotiation stop at 3/0/0/0, and after the next patch (hopefully) you will be able to call your speeder without a camp...

You have to be a doctor to cure state effects. I guess it really depends on your playstyle if you need to have medic in your template.

If the majority of my time was going to be spent in a group with a medic/doctor, I probably wouldn't bother with a few medic points. Especially if I was going to be buffed everytime I fought something.
