When I think of a TKM, I think of a person who would not be fighting in something as restricting as composite armor would be. Someone who would fight in more ceromonial type armor, similar to that of what wookies were recently given.
Of course everyone would see taking composite armor away from the melee professions, especially TKM as a nerf... but hear me out.
Giving TKM toughness "similar" (not identical) to that of Jedi, and not allowing people to fight with full composite armor on. We could then be given a weaker armor which would be useable by TKM which would have weaker resists or no resists and possibly increases to our current abilities or toughness.
I would just like to see less composite, and more variety in the game.

I'd suggest reading the jedi forums occasionally to see how "happy" the jedi are with these changes. Let me sum up someone elses post on the jedi forum:
"Before Patch 9: Jedi running around in composite, looking exactly like everyone else. After Patch 9: All jedi wearing the same robes looking exactly the same as all other jedi and standing out in a crowd because of it"
While it annoys me to see people running around wearing the same exact stuff, this really doesn't address the issue. The reason people wear composite is simply because of it's abilities, not because it looks "cool" or anything of the sort. Giving us a profession specific armor/robe doesnt' really solve the "look alike" problem because if people think that it's any good they'll invest skill points to get novice TKA and toss on the armor. So instead of seeing everyone wearing composite you see all tka's wearing similar armor.
In the end the real solution to the look alike problem is for the developers to offer sub-types of armor. For example "Polished Composite Armor" very shiny and comes in all metallic colors, or "Swooper Composite Armor" when I think swooper I think of "punk" so this type of composite would have a bunch of spikes and the like, and looks a bit worn. Composite armor that provides the same resists but just looks different than other composite. We need this for all armor types, and even some of the clothing types as well.

Thats an excellent idea, the sub-types of armor. I'd love to see something like that eventually implemented for all of the armor types. I doubt it will happen as its more of a minor issue compared to the other things going on. Or at least the devs would consider it a minor issue.

You are completly missing my point. I am suggesting that some melee, especially TKA/Fencers would not wear Composite armor in battle. Both rely on being nimble, and flexible. My suggestion for increased toughness, and addition of class specific armor was to make professions less similar. Extra types of armor would be excellent, but composite should not be the ONLY thing everyone wears. Jedi in Composite was ridiculous, everyone thought that... TKM's in composite doesn't look much better in my opinion.

I, for one, get your point. But what I think he was saying is, adding class specific armor won't help the lack of variety. Instead of all the TKMs wearing Comp, they'll be wearing whatever new type of armor they receive. Granted, it would look a lot better to see someone fighting in the new stuff rather than composite. There will also be people who will get Novice TKA (or one of the other melee professions, if they also get class specific armor) just to get the cert for the armor, if it ends up being any good.
I like the idea of the profession armor though, I really do. As long as they add in different sub-styles, as was mentioned. (I doubt they would.)
