Thread: Fighting w/o armor?

Fighting without armor really should matter at all. I was a TKM/ Master ranger. Had no other skills. My stats are 900 health, 1000 action, 800 mind. And a bit in the secondaries of Health and Action. So far the toughest thing I've soloed was a Kimogila. Unarmored, no medic skills. The key is intimidate.

Even when doc buffed and using 2 brandy+PB, I still get chewed up fairly quick w/o any type of armor on. Is this normal? Or should I change my tactics for fighting PvE so I can due without the ecumberances...
Also, what would good HAM stats be for a human TKM?

are you wacking intimidate on the target and useing cob as well?
well i allways use armour and my current stat migration ensures i have 1100 in focus, i can spam secials all day with out loseing any mind when i take brandy as well of course, the down fall of this migration is that ive taken all health and action secoundery stats down to a min level of 400 each, ok if you buffed cos it boost's them up, but it make me pritty useless and fighting if im unbuffed

If you are always fighting with buffs, then, as a human, boost your mind stats pretty high then put the majority of the remaining points in your health and action secondaries. This will further "toughen you up" for fighting purposes.
As for not needing armor, it depends on what I am fighting. If it is against ranged npcs, I'm going to wear some kind of armor every time(usualyl composite or just Bone if it is faction missions) since ranged is really a problem for us.
If it is against creatures, for the lower level ones, I'll go without armor just fine, for higher level creatures, I wear low encumbrance Ubese armor that is also encumbrance sliced. This is perfect for PvE purposes and doesn't take much of a hit encumbrance wise at all. For anything over cl 100, I wear composite no matter what(ranged or melee).

Oh, also, if you are going to fight unarmored most times, I highly recommend picking up Master brawler for the toughness/damage bonus as well as intimidate 2, and novice medic for self healing.

I dont fight with armor, i think it is ugly and i take much pride in every PvP/DUEL victory I get vs. those individuals clad in there comp armor. They get so pissed when you beat them. So migrate those stats get a good doc and mind buff. And practice practice practice...

lol... well you can fight without armor but not in PVE in which case you will instantly die from any two people. However in pvp (one on one) you can use stun and intimidate to keep their damage low though if they are wearing nice armor i dont know that you could "beat" them. With intimidate 2 and the further increases from master brawler (you might want fencer for the def) and buffs you could probably win most duels against non pistoleer non rifleman non CMs lol.

I fight PvE virtually all the time with no buffs (beyond PowerBoost and maybe some foods) and no armour. And I can't recall the last time I was incapped.

Would you mind qualifying that statement with the type of PvE you're talking about? You don't have to be a master TKA to kill feral bantha AFK. There lots of things that will kill you in 1 hit if you're not buffed. And somethings even if you are buffed in armor will give you quite the run for your money. I assume you've never been to the Corvette.

Indeed. PvE with no armour may be possible (I got to TKM no armour, no buffs, but with PB) but only in mid/mid-low level. Try anything on Dath, or any high level content and you'll get massacred. Even with buffs and armour - Try and get anywhere in the DWB without tons of friends. Even the likes of Yavin 4, Standard wildlife on Endor, proves a problem. Unless you wanna get stuck in medium/low level PvE, good luck lol.
