Thread: should i take meditation 4?

hi all i am a trandoshan and i was going to make a bh/pistol char


i love both profession as well..

but after some toughts i really don know if i need to get to master bh.. with investigation 3 i can get player missions, and carbine and llc aren t what i am going to use when i am master pistoleer...

mastering bh would just give me ranged damage mitigation+ 10 pistol accuracy



so i started to look at other proofs as well

and i tought about getting meditation 4 that anyone tells me is "so great"



but what does meditation do? i ve read the faq and it seems me hat it just give s you some boost related to mind (wich trandoshan doesn t shine of.. is it based on focus, will power or mind? ) and heals off poison/disease (wich is usefull but if you have a medic with you i don t need it)


so would meditation 4 help my char or i am better off to just leave it alone?

what you think will be better for a great pistoleer? (i am going to go for jedis )

the other option would be 0/0/4/0 fencer to bost dodge

Mediatte 2 allows you to powerboost - it boosts your health, action and mind by 50% of your unbuffed mind. So, you go from 500/500/800 to 900/900/1200 HAM. It needs one minute to wind up, lasts about 8 minutes, then takes 1 minute to drop again, and can be reused isnatntly, everywhere - even on the corvette.


Meditate 4 allows you to heal all wounds - even mind wounds. Again, everywhere, even on the corvette. Pretty fast as well.


Meditate 4 also allows you to Force of Will one every 60 minutes - it gives you a good chance to get up from an incap. Very useful.


Meditae allows you as well to heal bleding, poison, and disease at varying leves.


Meditate 4 is a very useful skill, all in all.

dont take fencer 0/0/4/0 as the dodge bonus doesnt stack anymore it was nerfed. also with the Combat balance around the cornor it wouldnt matter

That's it. This is the 400th time I've heard about this and it's 50/50 it does or doesn't stack between pistols and fencer. How could it not? It's the same freakin skill mod with the same title! Can someone please explain? (I know this is better off in the fencer forums, but a simple true/false and a link to somewhere definitive is all i''m lookin for)

True it does stack, don't listen to him it does stack, now after the combat balance it may not but then again after the combat patch I heard every one will have to carry a nuna in their pack for the nuna balancing issues. Since you want a link http://www.google.com

Dodge is dodge. Unless you start seeing "pistol dodge" and "fencer dodge" listed seperately on your skills screen, they stack.

I have a friend that is Master Fencer. He started leveling pistols to do smuggler and was dodging everything at pistols 1. Made grinding pistols real easy (not that it is that hard). It may have a cap so in that sense they don't stack, but it is the same skill. Sorry, I am already picking up meditate 4 and just stopped in this thread to see what peeps had to say. Seems they have the same thoughts as me, very useful skill.

The cap on dodge, counterattack, and block is +125. That's the same cap that's on ranged defense and melee defense.

I have always found meditation 4 to be helpful. when I didn't have it I found a few times witch would have been very helpful. Bottem line I have found that meditation 4 has always been a good choice. Though I'm not trying to become some uber pvper/

With Meditation 4, you'll get :

Heal poison
Heal disease
Heal wounds
Powerboost that'll increase your HAM for half your mind for 10 minutes.
Force of Will that allow you to recover from incap once per hour (if you're lucky).

If you're aiming at PvP only, the only really usefull part is the FoW at meditation 4.

The others are great in PvE, but not very usefull in PvP.

That's my opinion.

Are there any benefits to meditate skill in getting a Masters box? What does extra +25 give you? Only speed or are there any other benefits?

The only thing I know for sure is that you heal your wounds faster (about 10 points more per tick).
