I am TKA now and am considering going back to swordsman which i loved. I like swordsman for hunting pve, but I am wondering which kinetic is better suited for the loot mobs like corvette/elders/dw and that kind of harder quest stuff? I like TKA, but i am not fond of the fact that they cant really handle elders and other high end stuff, so the second damage type provided by swordsman is appealing. So from a purely kinetic damage perspective, what are everyone's thoughts on which is more suited to thoe kind of loots mobs/quests ?

Swordsman hands down..

For high level PvE swordsman is the obvious choice.

Swordsman hands down. They have Medium Armor Piercing whereas a TK only has light. Not to mention Swordsman have the powerhammer that does Blast damage which so conveniently happens to be one of the few NS Elder's weaknesses.

Why bother with scythe? If you have swordsman, use a powerhammer with two-handed area attack 3 after aggroing everything on you. Works great.

I am asking for kinetic comparisons for when i go up against stuff that has higher blast res. My first choice would be hammer yes, but if i am going to be using kinetic damage, i want to know which is better suited. Sounds so far like swordsman is the way to go

kenetic cant do damage against elders, thats where their taken ya with this by saying powerhammer for blast damage, kenetic has high resist on almost all mobs..... blast is your best bet EXCEPT in corvett and DWB for some parts of it....... the super battle droids have 100% blast so then you go kenetic, which swordsman has both kenetic and blasts, so swordsman.....

eh.... thats always a choice but id rather have one profession and doctor, so much easier to travel and be able to take care of yourself rather than having to go back to coronet every 3 hours....

For just PVE against kinetic easy mobs I enjoy using TK...Im master TK and Master sword. My scythe is pretty good, and actually works quicker because I can target one pool with headhit3...and having master brawler helps with having the only KD a swordsman can get. But for those ERs I use VKs because A. I can take down an ER, or normal nightsister (non elder) just about a quickly as I can with my scythe...but the difference is Im using a standard damage sliced VK instead of my I had to work my rear end off to get a scythe...yes I have to run back to coronet every 3 hours...but I dont mind because sometimes I need a rest anyways...I can heal everything but my own battle fatigue.

As for powerhammers being so useful against elders...yeah they hit...and as you whittle that 350k HAM beat down for 20 minutes you Might get something worth it...but I dont think elders are much worth it...better to hunt them in groups of swordsman and riflemen and split the loot.

If you have to pick one...just pick the one you have the most fun with. I love using both..and novice medic is enough for me...if you do go sword/doc route remember your defenses will not be very high so plan on using alot of those stimEs

Well it looks like i'm going to agree with the majority here. I'm a TKM and Master Sword. I've been hitting the the NS mobs for the last 3 days and found my scythe handles the mobs a little faster then my VKs do. WIth spin attack 2 for 2H i average 1200 dmg on NS spellweavers/sentinals/etc. And my VKs average 800 dmg. Also I found my scythe uses 4-6 less mind with my spin. Plus the chance to change status with other area attacks in 2H is nice, plus the chance to bleed because you hit them so hard. So I hope that answers your question about kinetic differences. But if you ask me, keep master TK and master swordsman again. Mix with master brawler you will be a PvP and PvE machine. I'm the zabrak tank lol.
