Ok, after being away from the game for a while, I returned with a new account. I plan on mastering TKA to go along with me entertaining professions. This may seem a sad template but, oh well, I am and always will be a Master Musicain. Anyways, what I could use some advice on is this: I am currently CL14 and am wondering what I should do to earn xp when I am soloing?

I do not always have the option to group and I am finding it tough to do any missions from terminals, even the CL15 ones. Of course this could just be me not being effective when fighting. Any advice/input would be most kind.

Thank you.

I kind of tried the same thing you did, started out working the Entertainer Professions. Once I decided to try combat skills, I found that at lower levels, trying to tank melee as a brawler without decent armor (or the detriment to melee speed and ranged accuracy while wearing armor) made it difficult to gain brawler exp at first. I found that training up in Marksman skills with rifle/carbine/pistol allowed me to get up to the point where I could wear the armor to protect me first, and then work on the brawler skills. It was for this reason that I decided to master the Commando profession first, and now am working TKA (currently 4,4,3,3) I will lose my Assault armor for good once I master TKS, but having the ranged skills first helped when it came to working the melee skills. Oh, and I've given up my entertainer skills completely to fill my template Master Commando/TKM/Novice Doc. Good Luck with yours.

Okay, I will let you in on the secret to solo levelling lowbies post-CU. The easiest combat profession to master is Marksman and it can be done within 3-6 hours max by repeatedly killing level 3-5 creatures outside the newb cities. The same thing can be done with Brawler, however it is a little slower. The key to it is this: Do not train your 4th boxes in each tree (ie: get to 3333 Brawler), and then max your experience in all 4 styles. What this does is it keeps you at low enough CL (I think you need to remain below CL12) to make the newb city creatures deliver moderate experience. This technique works best on high green con mobs as you can kill them very quickly. Essentially, you are maximizing your xp gain versus time. You will get roughly 250 xp per kill on the high green mobs, and can kill them at a rate of a couple per minute. On the other hand, if you were to find a spawn of blue mobs, they would give approximately 650 xp per kill but sometimes that xp would be deminished due to healing and you run the risk of actually dying.

Once you have maxed your experience of choice (or all melee if you so choose), then go ahead and train up as much as you want. Unfortunately, by stopping at unarmed 3 and sword 3, you will not have enough unarmed xp to gain your novice TKA, but you will be pretty close and missions on blue mobs will get you the experience you need along with a little cash. Once you get to around CL20 you should be able to go to your server's grinding city of choice (typically Dantooine Mining and Agro Outposts or Nym's on Lok) and get in a group to start actually grinding out some levels.

EDIT: I just realized you didn't indicate you wanted Master Brawler. Since that is the case, you can just do as I said above with the sword and unarmed trees to get yourself the xp needed for TKA. Depending on where you stand on CL now, my technique may no longer be applicable as the mobs needed to do this might be grey. Make note that the newb cities have 2 sets of mobs around them. The closest to the city are level 1-3 and just slightly further out there are usually large groups of CL 3-5. Make sure you look for those outer newb mobs to do the above technique. Also note that SOE has stated (even in their knowledge base) that macro grinding for experience is allowed...
