Thread: Slicing/Crafting is making Innate Armor less effective

Well after doing some dueling tests with players, I am close to going back to armor.

Yes Innate armor is FREE armor and yes Innate Armor is 6k across the board, but in the long run...its great for PvE...NOT dueling or PvP.

I am a MTK/Master Pike with Innate Armor active, COB rolling, and good clothing attachments. I am using a VL in combat. This is all great until you face an opponent with 7000+ energy protection armor, sliced for 75% armor break protection, they are using COB too, they have good armor attachments, and they are using an energy weapon too. Plus they can load up an Ubese Bando with more AA's. We get negated by armor.

So not only does the opponent have 1000+ better in energy damage (could be kinetic too, just using this as an example), they are blocking armor break by 75%.

Plus with ADK's, crafters reaching 80k+ condition on armor, armor with a health bonus, and smugglers being able to slice parts to decrease armor decay, Innate Armor is losing its shine!

Plus AA's seems to always go cheaper then CA's. As an MTK that relies on clothing, our options are limited. And with bio-clothing on the bork list right now, things are kinda lame.

I like my look in game, but if things don't look brighter...its time to go back to good ole armor!

Its not like you can't wear armor. If you want to be good in PvP, your going to have to spend some money. Just buy a PvP only suit, and use Innate Armor for PvE.

And if they are using CoB, they must be a TKAjust like you. The only difference I'm seeing is they spent time, any money, to get ready for PvP.

What are you talking about? In PvE, we are awesome tanks. I'm talking about PvP. If you want to be the best, your going to have to go with the best equipment. If TIA was boosted to the same level as armor, everyone would be a TKA and it would kill AS. Sorry, not everything is going to be fair. Its called balance. If you want to be a 'god' in PvP, your going to have to use armor.

Eldos, buying armor is the easy way out. I am mainly stating that Innate needs improvement. I like wearing modded clothing and having a non-armor look. If a MTK needs armor, then why bother mastering this profession. The point is, a MTK should be superior in agility to back his tanking abilities. Where is my edge for not wearing armor for my innate skill? TK has a weak armor break attack and now it will be hurt even more due to the slicing changes. Our we tanks or just lame meat shields?

Exactly If we have to wear armor to compete then we mite as well just be master swordsman. TKA 0/1/0/0 Master Pikeman.

Balance?

Why bother being a Master TK if we have to where armor to be more effective in PvP.

If TK is suppose to be a TANK at MASTER level, then make us a TANK.

Not everyone will become a fotm TK if the balance was all within the MASTER rank of skills.

Eldos, I think you missed the point.
