How does this effect attack?

i have a few + UA dmg stuff... does it only work with NO weapon? or does it work with knucklers too?

anyone know.. cause with like +400 what am i adding like 40 dmg? 400? hows it work

Unarmed damage modifiers gained through the skill boxes only take effect when no weapon is equipped. Any mods you're gaining from attachments and BE clothing don't actually work at all.
