Thread: Question for TK / CH
I started TK and CH at around the same time and have been trying to use each skill set to complement the other. Right now, I'm a 2-1-3-3 TK and a 2-1-1-3 CH, which means my max CL is 27. I wanted to ask the TK/CH people out there, what's a good pet to tame at this level, and what should I hunt with it? There are a LOT of questions on this board asking what to hunt for unarmed xp, but not many of them take pets into account. Currently, I have a Greater Desert Womp Rat (lvl 22) that I've been using to do Perlek missions on Lok for about 12k per lair (actually a little less now that I've hit power 3). Any suggestions on how I can maximize my xp gaining potential?

You get more CH XP if you use a weak pet on a hard enemy you just have to be able to rescue them before they get incapped. Working on CH and TKA at the same time though is hard work as you can't use the follow command to pull your pet away from the target as you're right next to it yourself. I found the only way to do it was to either work on CH or TKA but not both at the same time. That said I did hit master TKA and Master CH within an hour of each other as I'd been using small pets for group hunts and big pets for soloing things to get tka xp.
Pets wise it's all personal preference as they're all very similar. For lvl 27 I was using a Dragonet but I think they're lvl 29 now. Pet of choice is a GPS but when I had some after the nerf they seemed pretty useless to me, Grand Wrix is a far better pet to have.

Actually, gotta disagree there. GW's don't have their armor anymore, and their lesser Health and same resists as GSP make them less than the GSP now, more so than ever.
Best pet at CL27 is the CL25 Boar Wolf. 50% kinetic, 9k ham. Hands down winner.
As far as pet-follow, if you want to disengage your pet, KD/warcry the target. Then, tell your pet follow while it's laying there...and then re-engage yourself. This is ONLY if you haven't set your pet to "guard". Telling your pet to follow "peace"s it out of combat temporarily, and that can allow you to rescue it.
I actually bought abio engineered Kwi with knockdown and critical strike specials. He isnt very powerful but its handy to have a pet with knockdown when my knockdown doesnt work.
Lately I've been hanging around Fort Tusken (with buffs of course) and I fight anything I can see. I'll go in and run knockdown warcry dizzy, and if my knockdown didnt work i send in my kwi and he knocks em down for me.
Usually I'll send in my pet at the end of the fight andI usually get around 800 to 1000 ch xp for it. I've been climbing up TKA and CH pretty quick that way.
