Thread: Give a quick answer to a TK student?

Alright... Fort Tusken and Sand People.

I've heard it alot, its what you are supposed to do to level TK pretty easily.

Only problem is, I'm having difficulties killing something with ~30% kinetic resistance, ~+6k all while doing maybe 100 points of damage a hit and being at half health/mind/action by the time I'm in range.

Any answers as to how the heck I'm supposed to be doing this would be appreciative.

Also, I'm pretty much green. I got the game back at release but didn't start till now cause I didn't like the fact that it took 2 weeks for me to get the game working just because I had a Radeon card.

Thanks for any help.

Btw, along with the me being a newbie rant, I meant to say feel free to spell things out pretty clearly if you don't mind, as I am probably clueless to many of the things that I need to be doing.

Thanks

Don't worry - you'll get editing eventually (community vet status)

It would be handy to know what your current skills are - but I'm going to take a guess at the problem. To solo at Tusken effectively you need to have Doctor Buffs. With your six Health and Action Stats buffed you won't kill yourself with specials, which is what you need to spam to beat them. Knockdown and Dizzy are pretty much a necessity too.

Once buffed you only need to worry about mind use, and that can either be handled by muon gold, some chef foods and/or musician and dancer buffs.

I'm straightup TKA student, i.e. only unarmed 4. I have no knockdown or dizzy. I'm trying to get to Novice TK so I can then start working on getting knockdown and dizzy.

Should I not be doing Tuskens at this level? From everything I've read I should be, but my experience is telling me the opposite.

Buffs will help with this - but it will take a fair bit longer. Get a good set of buffs (probably 10K or so) and a bunch of muon and see how you do. If it's still too hard, don't try to solo, get into a group and go hunting.

Is there anything other than Tuskens I can fight at my level? I'm a fan of soloing so I don't really want to group, and paying for buffs for limited results against Tuskens doesn't thrill me much.

Buff then go to Naboo and take out Kaadu, Gualama, plains tusk cats, and maybe Bolle Bols hon. They aren't as much xp, but there are lots of them; and, buffed you should level pretty quick to TKN. Once you hit TKN you'll get a big boost in damage and it will be a completely different story.

If I were you I would head too The Krayt Graveyard on Tatooine. There are feral banthas (1300xp each, very easy to kill), Rontos, Some easier Tuskens, and other easily killable mobs that give good xp, If I were you I would get buffs and 70+% Kinetic Ubese.

I just got Tera Kasi Novice a few days ago and I went from being able to solo a Tusken Commoner(Amazing I know) to being able to solo a Piket with some decent buffs and some muon....

I would say the easiest way to get TKN is to get some nice buffs, some muon, and a small group of 4 or 5 guys(no more then 1 commando) and go to Dant and start hunting bols and pikets. (Good meat to if you got any scout. Oh and milking is so much fun lol)

I got about 30k in about 2 hours of work before I got TKN and then once I got it I got 100k in about 1 hour lol.

I did all Brawler 4 on Naboo doing Kaadu and Gualma missions. Speed sliced VK (I know you arent certified but the speed will still work), 70%+ Ubese and Doc buffs. I cruised thru Brawler 4 this way. Only had to use Muon once. I keep it hotkeyed for emergencies only.

Only way to solo with little downtime that I know of. Good Luck and be assured when you hit TK Novice the world will change.

Then go to Dant and do Quenker missions. I just group with my pet, leave at outpost and go out solo. Same as above except now VKs will start to work for you damage wise. Getting 3k per Quenker and same for lair for approx 20k xp per mission + 5k payout. Doing 100k xp per hour easily.

I did all of the UA4-TKN grind in about 2 hours if even that slow. It's simply a matter of figuring out time vs xp gained.

Speed sliced VK,

For 75k I bought a composite chest plate that had UA Speed +10 (okay i know thats not exactly easy to find),

Be trandoshan.

Doc buffs and ubese armor but helmet off, muon hotkeyed.

Savage quenker missions on dantooine, group with a droid and leave it at the terminal.

Savage quenker missions are 6800-7100, 6 quenkers per nest, 3k UA xp each. you never have to fight more then 2 quenkers at a time, if you get them seperated then just 1 at a time. They've got 4-5k HAM and only 35% kinetic resist.

Hit each status effect once, then UA Hit1 till dead...don't think i used a stimB once.

About 21k xp per lair, about 6 lairs to novice TK.

Of course I had my master rifleman skills to fall back on if things got dicey, i only ever had to worry about getting mind incapped though..but then again savage quenkers don't deathblow so you're straight.

My story is rather similar to these folks...

On a lark the other dayI decided to try out TKA and decided to try out what the folks said. I bought a few VibroKnucklers, got a speed slice for it. Then went out and found an armorsmith who sells Ubese. Got a pretty good deal on a set of 71% Ubese (though I didnt buy the helmet.. its kind of ugly, and musicians are impossible to find). Found a doctor to buff me up, and then bought some Muon Gold and some Fishak. Took my R5 with me to Endor, and rolled up some Crazed Gurreck Missions.

This got me from Unarmed 3 to where I am now, working my way up the tree. Basically, I set up a snazzy little macro that Im so proud of (its my first ever :smileysurprised that chains stun/blind/intimidate. Then I would hit that until all 3 status changes stuck, and go Berzerk on the critter. It takes awhile at Unarmed 3 and 4, because you do like 70-90 damage on a normal hit, 150-190 on a Berzerk hit, and maybe 150 or so on a UnarmedHit1 attack. I never bothered to check their HAM (I only found out how to a few hours ago :smileysad but it would take a good... oh lets say two to three minutes to kill one Gurreck. Luckily though, they arent particularly social, though they will help out if you are close to a group when you start fighting or are attacking the lair as they spawn. The lair was the worst part of it, because for some reason, I wasnt getting the boost to hit the lair that you usually get once all the critters are dead .

Im told that Wooly hide sells well, which is a boon since Im working on CH as well. I made tons of Scouting xp out there by always being mask scented (it seems like every 5 feet on Endor is an aggro mob) and by harvesting the hides of the Gurrecks.

The big fun was once I hit TK Novice. My VKs were suddenly certified, so I got a huge boost in damage. Then I also get the +70 damage from hitting Novice anyways. Plus Unarmedhit2. Plus Meditate! Basically, I went from pretty weak (though able to handle myself against these red critters while obscenely buffed) to a veritable powerhouse... sort of. After Novice, my regular hits were for 150 or so, and Unarmedhit2 is doing around 1k damage. Not quite up to the big numbers my rifles were posting, but much much quicker.

Overall, Im having a ton of fun with TK. Its odd, in that each time I look at what skill to learn next, Im not certain. Its not like in some profs, where its obvious that going 4.x.x.x is the way to go. I like meditate, and it seems to be what Im going to work on first. But power looks really nice... and the balance line will be soooo useful.

Im a Zabrack with fully migrated mind stats though (what with previously working on the Rifleman side of things and all, though I think Im going to start giving those skills up). I dont know if that will help you much, but it does mean that Im slightly better off in the mind department than others (except those stupid broken buggy humans ).
