Thread: An apology and a Get Real
All you TKA's and especially you TKM's who say we aren't the toughest PvP class in the game either
A) Have no idea how to use a TKA or
B) Saying it so the Dev's don't realize how tough we are.
The thing that convinced me to go TKA is I was a master CH and 3/0/3/2 Pistoleer and I saw an Overt Imp TKM in the starport, I went overt called my Gnarled Rancor and my GSP (Ganrled used to be lvl 45 now it's 46 so you can't do this anymore) and went after the TKM. Well he knocked my Rancor and gsp down and whipped my butt before my critters could get back up. I've tried many combo's trying to beat at TKM I even tired BH 0/0/4/4 and Pistoleer 4/0/3/2 with Novice medic, and still got whipped in under 25 seconds.
I know what you're thinking "Maybe you just stink at PvP" I had the same thoughts, so I decided to test that theory and become TKA. I have never lost a 1 on 1 fight with my TKM.
My point is TKM's are tough so please don't say "we aren't any tougher than a pistoleer/carbineer etc.) we are, but like I said anyone who makes it though Unarmed Brawler deserves to be that tough.

I will go out on a limb and assume that you never tried the investigation tree of BH. I used to be a 3/4/4/4 BH, and dropped it for TKM. I can honestly say it took me less time to master TKM from Unarmed 0, than it did to get to Investigation 3 from Novice BH. Now that's a grind.
Of course TKM's are tough. A master of ANY combat profession is tough (whether they're willing to admit it or not). But let's not confuse PVP with duels...
You say that you've never lost a 1-on-1 battle since you became a TKM. I don't know what kind of PVP you've been engaging in, but most of the PVPing I do is usually either base defense, or raids. These types of PVP are almost NEVER a 1-on-1 situation. I'm not too worried about the person I'm going after killing me, it's his friends shooting me from 50m out that scare the crap out of me. Sure I can Dizzy-KD a guy and UA3 him to death in a relatively short time. (This is, of course, assuming he isn't the proud owner of one of the "golden" PVP templates that can dodge an attack from a tactical nuke that he doesn't even know is coming.) But by the time I can incap the guy (much less DB him), his friends have whittled my HAMinto nothingness(with or without VKs/Armor... doesn't matter).
When I was a BH (before I even got Master BH), I use to kill TKMs all the time in duels and PVP. It was simple... kite the hell out of them. If a ranged profession just stands there while we take them apart, then they deserve to die. If we don't use surprise/terrain to our advantage, WE deserve to die. Plain and simple. With the current battle system, it's impossible to use alot of different tactics, but the simplest tactical rule still applies. Exploit your foe's weaknesses (and no, I don't mean USE exploits), while minimizing your own. If you do this, whether you win or lose, you will have a battle you can be proud of. ![]()

Investigation is easier than hell now, vehicles...you can just toss the seeker droids off the swoop bike as yer runnin toward the WP no problem
I never said it was hard, just long and boring. Once you have gotten the mission, talked to the SPYnet OP, gone out of town to launch the probe droid, wait for the probe droid to locate the marks planet, wait for the shuttle (maybe 2 if the mark is on an advanced planet), then you're right you hop on your swoop and launch a couple probe droids, of course the mark isn't standing still so you have to keep tracking them. You can get about 300-600 exp per hour if you are working very fast and the shuttle gods favor you. Of course a TKA can get between 300k-600k exp per hour hunting on an advanced planet. Like I said before: I've done both (with vehicles), and MY experience is that TKM comes much faster than the investigation tree in BH. Like it or not, that's the way it is.

oops! That should read:
hop on your swoop and launch a couple *seeker* droids
