I've seen acouple people mention this lately and bring it up for discussion. There really is no melee hybrid professions. Yes Smuggler and Commando take Unarmed IV, but, their skill trees in now way use unarmed fighting. So, I though perhaps we should have a discussion, if not start a petition(though I've never seen one work), to get melee hybrid professions. Frankly, melee hybrid profession could give us more chances at economic gain (I.E. Smugglers have spices and slicing) and more content (BHs have BH missions, Jedi Hunting, etc).




Personally, I'd like to suggest a Melee Bounty Hunter. Same basics, Master Brawler and Scout. Keep Investigation line. Just melee weapons.




I understand there's probably a lot of you who are skeptical about such things, but I figure if we get discussion started and lots of people talking about it, maybe some months down the line, maybe by Space Expansion, we could see some Melee Hybrid professions.

as a former mbh ill attest to the fact that bh missions are great content. one of the major gripes on the bh forums is that all the skill points required leave little room for dabbling or personalization. i got burned out on ranged fighting after bh and all of its convenient pistol/carbine go-withs. but the option todrop master marksman for master brawler, keep master scout and do a melee mbh would solve a lot of gripes from the bh contingent as well. great idea... worthtalking about.

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion. The moment I heard it I got lots of ideas and thought we should get other people thinking about this. Get the ball rolling and hope it snowballs, hehe.

Also heard others suggest things like Paladin, which is a good idea, possibly a Medic/Brawler hybrid. Also Gladiator would be nice, possible another Brawler/Scout hybrid. Or even perhaps Samurai, which would require Master Brawler. Basically like Ranger is to Scout, except advance all your previous brawler skills even further, one line each.

I realize some of these may affect the overall "Star Warsy feel" (what little there is). But in view of the movies alone, Jabba had Swordsman and Axeman (Lando carried a Vibro axe when pretending to be Tamtel Skreeg). Also, there's Pikeman, the Emporer's Royal Guards use things call Force Pikes. And Teras Kasi come straight from the books.

I believe melee hybrid professions would be very beneficial with the new content and new paths it could bring to the game. It would sure give melee players much more to do.

Nice idea's but how about we let SOE fix other professions first before trying to squeeze more in.
