I am looking to improve my master swordman, i am planning on dropping doc down to 0/4/4/0 and picking up TKA 0/4/0/4. the ranged and melee defence make it worth it (and the fact i already have 300k combat exp) but wanted to know if combat equirium (where you get up from forced posture change) and definsice acuity (higher chance of counterattack happening) worked and do they work arcoss templates any help would be great thanks

I dabbled into the tka combat equilibrium line (was rifle/fencer), and i'm pretty sure it worked. Whenever i went down, dizzy or not, i would pop right back onto my feet.

I believe combat equilibrium is working properly, not defense acuity.

Defense acuity is actually a joke compared to dodge..

Since acuity supposedly enhances your ability to dodge/counter/block and TKM does not have any of these skills, it is pointless to even have it in the tree. If it does in fact work, then it would truly be a powerful tool for a fencer or swordsman. However, I have seen no evidence of this. Try it out and let us know.

per devs at fanfest...tka's def acuity is designed to choose from a dodge/block/counter randomly.

regular dodge/block/counter skill mods do not affect this.

Therefore...stacking other mods onto it are ineffective.

tka chooses a response based on Def Ac vs accuracy. fencer dodges based on dodge vs accuracy roll, 2hs counters vs accuracy, and pike blocks vs accuracy.

each are a seperate skill.

They CLAIM it is working, but might need some balance work

The dev team would never allow any kind of imbalance so that one group of people would "cut swaths" through crowds of people.

ahh nice. So saying this CoB will actually increase your acuity, thus decreasing the attackers accuracy? Wonder if we can get solid clarification on this.

nope...doesn't modify their accuracy....its like old pen and paper rpgs.

you take your stat (def ac) and add a random roll- thats your score to Save-

Take the attackers Accuracy, and add a random roll. That's their "to Hit"

the higher of the two wins.

If you succeed at saving (higher than attackers total score) it then rolls a random action, dodge/counter/block.

Equilibrium is definately working. I tried TKM/Master Fencer once i think it was around 85 equilibrium and so many times from a KD i would jump straight back up.

Thanks for this very useful information. I was under the impression that dodge/counter/block statistics were employed in defensive acuity; but this makes sense.

Peace.

Based on tests I ran a week ago, I can't believe that defensive acuity is working as intended, though it does (sort of) work.

I shot my poor TKM 250 times with a CDEF in test 1 holding a VK with no CoB. I hit roughly 49.5% of the time, missed roughly 49.5% of the time, and blocked twice (for the remaining 1%).

I shot my poor TKM 250 times again undert he exact same conitions except I had a CoB macro running (a macro that did /center every 31 seconds). Since it lasts 30 seconds, CoB was effectively up 97% of the time. I hit roughly 44% of the time, missed roughly 49% of the time, blocked8 times, counter-attacked8 times, and dodged 2 times (for 3%, 3%, and 1%). I can't believe that CoB at master is supposed to only prevent roughly 6% of attacks from succeeding.

Note that overall accuracy didn't change at all with CoB, just a few hits were prevented from actually doing any damage.

hi

i am also a dabbler

fencer, rifleman, tka

the combat equilibrium stacks and works great with fencer and any other profession that already has some of it. it doesnt work while holding a rifle since it has nothing to stack with.

acuity is exclusive TKA skill, it works exclusively when you are unarmed or have a VK equipped. and its a bit underpowered rigth now.
