My take on it is they want to take away both the super-stacker and the dabbler Combatants. The Respec will let us build back to wherever we were prior to the CURB assuming we have the free skill points.

Not entirly happy with the increased reliance on other skills myself, I mean what does Heavy Sword have to do with TK, but I can see adapting to the new reality with minimal fuss.

The re-shuffle, if nothing else were to change, would not effect stacking in the slightest, as a majority of stackers are Master Brawler anyway...

I don't like it at all.

It looks as though the extra skill requirements (2H Sword Specialization I - IV)has been added to use up the skills thata player would haveleft over after getting rid of novice medic (assuming a player has it). TheCU is designed to allow anyone to use a stim pack withoutthe medic professionso to me it looks like the Devs have assumed that most people have novice medic just to heal damage and will not be needing it anymore. In my case I do indeed have novice medic so once I drop it I will be able to reallocate my skill points to fill 2H Sword Specialization I - IV and not lose any other skills or threaten my Teras Kasi Master status.

Are we going to get a 2-H sword certification, or are these points just flushed away, like the Rifle line is for BH, or Unarmed is for Smuggler in the current system?

That is a good point, but this change will completely screw over the fun template I'm building. It consists of only TKM and exactly five full Jedi branches with a whopping 2 skill points left over. This will REALLY suck if I cannot use this template after the CU. I'll have to take away one branch and either not be able to run, control animals, heal, block, or use a saber. I specifically designed this to have fun, not for power. Adding an extra 14sp in this template will take away that fun factor. And I don't want to go full jedi because I love TKM *SO MUCH*

I'm at a loss on what to do now

Basically these skill points will be "flushed away" as you say much like the examples you gave. Its the Devs way of balancing the skill point useage under the new system.I reallycan't imagine anyone with Teras Kasi skills actually using what little 2-H sword skills you gain.

It seems that this new method won't affect peopel who have mastered Brawler, or am i seeing things the wrong way?

I hate to say it but thosewho arein a similar situation as yourself are going to have to make some tough choices when the CU gets rolled out to everyone. Of course things may change before it is all said and done and there is still yet more to be revealedbut I have a feeling the Devs are going to stick with these profession changes. I feel for you guys, I really do.

All I can say is walk over to the doctor forums, take a look at what they are doing to the other half of my character =0

Then slowly, quietly smile and walk away. Walk slowly so the devs don't see you!

You know that scene, the one where Marlon Brando did that little hand wave right before he died. Yeah. That was beautiful man.

I wrote this before the NGE, now I feel like Brando

Well, if you use my theory about dropping medic and a little math you can see quite possibly why the Devs did what they did.

By droppingnovicemedic a player would gain 15 skill points. In order to keep balance in the game these skill pointsneed to be used in conjunction with achieving the Teras Kasi profession.

Since theprerequisite to getting to Teras Kasi is only through the Brawler profession than these skill points could easily be spent inone-handed I - IV, two-handed I - IV, or polearms I - IV. Obviously they chose two-handed I - IV which uses up 14 of the 15 points that were freed up from dropping medic.

The only other way to use up the 15 points would be to gain another novice profession which is really not the way to resolve this since novice medic would have been dropped already. It is a much more appropriate solution to have the points used in the Brawler profession since unarmed I - IV is located there.

I don't claim this is the specific reasoning of the Devsbut everything seems to look right.
