I was a Master Smuggler for 2 years, prior the respec, so I know all about how borked slicing is atm.

Question I have for all those that know....what were your experiences with getting your Katarn's sliced?

Having been a smuggler so long...I don't expect a fix to slicing any time soon. Having said that, I don't want to bank my beauties until that magic day comes. So, I am curious what experiences those of you that did it have had. Thanks for your feedback.

I got a 5% damage slice on mine, which according to the smuggler, was a good slice for these.

Are you sure slicing is not correct? I've read a bit on the weaponsmith forums, and it seems that all weapons have theoretical caps in speed/dmg/sac etc... So according to this CU, is slicing really borked? Or isa 5% slice achieving the theoretical max on weapons?

If you have any evidence saying slicing is not working as intended, I'd like too see it. Otherwise, I'd waste no time in getting these sliced, but i'm impatient

Also....those of you who have gotten your katarn knucklers sliced, please post results, if you can remember,so we can compare.

Personally I'd have to say that there seems to bea cap, the better the weapon, the less effect as I've sliced 3 Knucklers of the Katarn and on 2 of them got a 5% damage slice and got a 2% or 3% speed slice on the other though the new base speed of it actually equals a 2.5% slice. Also the speed slice gave 3.x more base dps than the damage slices.

Ive sliced 2-3 of these also 6% was my best damage slice the others I had speedslice on think it was 3% boththese knucklers are almost hard caped if you look at almost all weapons 940-1069damage is always the caps for lvl 54 some squezzea few more points out like the assalt bowcaster T21 powerhammer and plasmaflamethrower. becausethese are master cert weaponsfor the damage dealers of the game...

I would wait for the smuggler revamp if I was you not because I think you will get higher slice % but for the option of picking what stat we can work on .... but be (warned) gains will have some risk, A smuggler in the new system could have a total critical failer then your prized weapon could be trashed,,, make sure its a master smuggler working on your stuff if you want to risk it ..... If not get some nice 30% powerups and use them it would crank your maxdamage up to 1300 i belive... if you have a ADK on it you will never have to worry about it decaying....

also DPS is not what you look at in weapons the 2 factors you want are highest max damage you can get with the lowest sac cost

cool down times are usualy longer then the weapons rated speed...

Tama...when people say slicing is borked...well, I personally (as a master smuggler) have gotten negative slices. Yes, -% slices on speed and damage and have actually seen the overall damage reduced. Now, this is rare, but it's enough to scare people away from getting them sliced.

The biggest question really is when will the new system be put in place? And as TKMfelixx suggests, there are negative aspects of slicing in the new system. Everyone would be well advised to cruise over to the smugglers forum and read up on it.

Gese...I am really sorry to hear that. I definitely consider myself lucky then with the 5% dmg increase my knucklers got.

im waiting on mine, dont know if i want to get tkm back now that i got them hehe, its tempting but i would miss teh damage of swordsman, grrrrrrr soooooooooooooo torn, what to do what to do
