Thread: What is your preferred combo for taking down tough mobs?

I realized that your definition of "tough" will differ but here is mine and it seems to work fairly well. I am a TKA 0/1/2/1 with 2.5spd 132dmg VKs when applicable. Zabrak so my regen rates are not through the roof or anything.

I use the following in this order: unequip vk, KD1, intimidate, stun, blind, KD1, berserk1 equip VK.

Using this I can take out a singular tusken raider without problem, usually about 1/2 to 2/3 HAM left. MOBs like Dune lizards and such leave me with about 1/3 ham left without using heals of any sort.

What are your combos and your experiences with them? Also not any pertinent info like TKA levels, etc.

I'm a little confused when I read posts such as the one about "Almost incapped by blue mobs" because I can take yellows without trouble (singly) and reds occasionally. Maybe there is a bug with what colors things are conning to certain people? Today I took out 3 lesser bocats, all yellow to me, without the use of a stimpack during the fight, using simply berserk and VKs. None of my method described above was used.

High level mobs scale up dramatically in ham, armor, and damage output. They also increase in resistance to knockdown, dramatically. On a npc that you only need to use 1-2 KD's to kill it, you don't even need to use dizzy/stun/blind/intimidate/warcry. For me these have little to no effect on the outcome of the battle.

Let's say a fight lasts 60 seconds. That means you basically have to apply a minimum of 6 Knockdowns. 6x200 ham = 1200 ham. Divided across 3 HAM bars that's 400 damage each bar. For me, that's half life. It does seem that knockdown pulls more from the action pool, for me anyway.

So in the above perfect scenario, you're at half health (bit more due to regeneration) at the end of the battle. More frequently on high end mobs, you have to apply double that in knockdowns, due to resists. Got an accidental add? You're screwed at this point.

KD with out VK still kills my charand my char is strong.

I miss seeing the red orange trails of all the special moves I made but now I cant afford to waste my HAM points on special moves except on 1 or 2KDs and because I am looking at my HAM bar so much I dont evenhave the time to look at the cool colored trails that my special moves make.

I think my favorite combo is:

Suicidal-Nuna followed by Comatose-Womprat finished off with Respawning-Rill.

Seems to work fairly well, though I don't seem to get much xp for it

keeping mind i send in my dewback first to "take one for the team"

but

no vibros - dizzy - KD - berserk

equip vibros

heal then pummel

for some reason i have found that my KD work more often when the creature has another status affect on it

well since im into my pistoleer profession now i will give you some good tips:

roll shot, kip up shot, health shot 2, body shot 2...

by that time the mob should be close enough

unequip that gun

knock the beast down

requip the gun 3 body shot 2's to the grill

rinse repeat...

unless its totally necessary

then you do this.. wait for said creature to get to you knock it down

then use uahit or ua combo for high damage output

after that attack let your normal attacks commense for about 5 seconds

re knockdown

again let your normal attacks commense

do this till they are dead
