You are fighting with a group of ranged fighters, and of course they start firing when the enemy is way out of your range as a TK. You run up to fight and one of the enemies buddies starts attacking you. This for one is a pain in the butt, because then the guy you were originally going to fight AND the guy who just aggroed you now are attacking you. I'm not sure what can logically be done about this, but im sure you have all found this to be a pain in the ars (unless you have some ideas for me to prevent this).

Another thing that is a pain (but i dont know if it is preventable) is that when you are fighting with a group, you only see how difficult the enemy is for the entire group to take it down. This is okay for a ranged player, but for melee what seems like light blue to your group may be un-tankable for you. I have died many times like this.

One last thing, because we have to get up close to the enemy we are almost guarunteed to be killed every time we are K'Oed. Once again, I dont know how this would be preventable but it is a definate annoyance to be killed more than anyone else in the group and have to constantly make everyone wait for you to come back. (I dont get KOd that much because im smart about it, but I am still KOd more than the commandoata safedistance who is doing more damage than me).

Just as an FYI, I love TKA and I am having lots of fun with it. Compared to how cool it is to see ur guy kicking some butt (rather than just firing a pistol), these problems are rather minor. But, maybe they should be brought to the attention of the devs (maybe they already have) and some of these things can be helped (i understand maybe people feel they are fine as they are, we are all entitled to our opinion). Thanks for reading, any advice to prevent these things from happening would be greatly appreciated! (and no, "get marksman skills" is not an acceptable answer :smileyvery-happy

Use tactics

Seriously, the main problem at this stage of SWG is, that group dynamics / tactics arent that established yet.

I group very often with a RL friend of mine, he is a doctor / combat medic and he does a great job to keep me alive. In fact, he is following me into the close quarter fight and heals me up. Its his job to keep me alive and its my job to keep the aggro on me, get the adds away from him and the mobs in ideal range. The ranged fighters just keep shooting.

So, my advice would be:

  • Talk to the medics in your group and tell them, that they should keep targeting you and have to prepare to heal you fast and often.

  • Use your styles: intimidate, stun, dizzy, blind help a lot, to minimize the damage you take

  • Dont intercept them too close to their lair (respawns are bad)

  • As a group, make a plan to attack the creatures: designate one main "puller"

    • its not good, if all are shooting at different targets. Decide (as a group), which player does the initial attack. Then you see, how many creatures respond and you have some time to plan your defenses.

  • As a group, make a plan, how do you handle adds (additional attacking creatures)

    • sticking pets on them to temporaily disable them

    • a secondary melee engaging them

    • ranged users using warning shot, KD (to get some time)

Hope this helps.

I am not that far into TK at the moment though (0/3/4/3), could be, that high level mobs are a problem.
