Thread: Can TKAs stop kiters w/o a gun?
I have a pistol and I use Suppression Shot to stop kiters.I would really like to give up the gun so I can keep my explorer/hunter skills. But I need to be able to stop a kiter. Can this be done with TKA skills alone?
Does warcry really "freeze them in their tracks"? It seems to have a 20m range.
Does UA lunge1 w/o VKs stop them reliably? If, so, what is next? Dizzy? UA KD?
If UA lunge1 fails to take effect, must I wait 30 seconds to try it again?
Does /follow work to get me close enough to UA lunge?
Someone posted that: /follow, remove VK, UA lunge1, UA KD, then beat senseless works. Is this true? I hope so. Then I can give up the gun.
Yes, I posted about using unarmed lunge 1 without knucklers on, and it works. You will need to be close to hit them due to the client/server lag, but for example if a catch up to an npc and hit him, then he runs away while I am following him, even when we are as far apart as /follow allows I can still lunge him into kneeling.
If you never get close enough to someone to get in 1 hit, you are not likely to be able to hit them. But really, should you be able to? I know it is frustrating, but it is realistic. If people are beating you at range, run the other way. Use buildings (outside and inside) to avoid their fire and draw them into a more favorable position.
If you think you are frustrated by chasing people in the open, they are just as frustrated by you hiding in a building. Yet you will allow yourself to chase them in the open, and eventually they will go in the building after you.
Yes you can stop them without a gun.
However, your only sure option right now is a strong fast pet, whether it be faction or creature.
My gurreck is sicked on the cowards that wont face me and fight. (no offense ranged people, carbineer myself, just RP
)
