Thread: First ever big battle with over 200p eople (how a teras kasi master did)
If you had lag like that then it didn't really matter what profession you were. You were going to die. Even if you managed to incapacitate someone with a rifle you would not have been able to deathblow them.
Even w/o lag the games netcode is horked against melee. I saw a post earlier confirming what we as melee so painfully know, reference the following from Raph:

We have a "fudge factor" on location of 6m. That's 1 second worth of movement for a player. If two players are moving, that means that theoretically, you might have up to 12m error in the distance. The server is udating position multiple times a second, and we have not seen server performance slower than that in many, many weeks.
Whenever a new update comes down from the server on movement (which happens multiple times a second) we move the player or creature towards the new spot at whatever speed is necessary to get them there in time. If it cannot be accomplished, they pop there.

12m! This is the reason why we cannot hit ANYTHING moving away from us except with lunge1/lunge2 (15m). (of course, after the 30 second timer has expired because folks get there KD ranged shots in first)
The only way they can fix this is to increase some of our key attacks to 14-16m range, which will probably never happen. SWG's tracking code is by far the junkiest I have ever experienced playing Online persistent games.
