Might be a dumb or redundant question, but are there any unarmed powerups?

Yes, there are Melee powerups. The have a different combination of stats from the ranged powerups though.
With ranged powerups you can get up to a +33% boost for Speed or Damage and a secondary stat of lowered HAM costs or range bonuses of up to 16%. But with melee powerups it is reversed so that you get a maximum 16% boost on Damage or Speed and a 33% reduction in HAM costs or range bonus'.
I make powerups on the Eclipse server and the ones I personally use are +16% Speed and +33% Mind Costs. Before I go hunting I get a doctor to buff my stats so Health and Action are never an issue and the 33% Mind reduction powerups allows me to use specials without worrying about getting capped from the mind pool.

Yeah, I use Muon Gold and VK's while wearing composite armor, and I have not been experiencing any Mind HAM problems, even using specials... keep in mind though, I am only 0001, so I am not using kd or dizzy, which may have higher costs.
