Thread: Shield Generators and TKA's
I've heard that shield generators act like armor.. Being atka, I thought this would this be a wise investment.. Where can I find shield genrators at?
thanks

Some armorsmiths make them.
Warning: They are quite expensive and only really effective against energy damage. They also deteriorate very quickly.
On Corbantis server you can find them all over the bazaar on coronet. Only problem with shield generators is that every hit they block it takes away 1 condition, but they block EVERY hit. I have only found one with like 1300 condition so far and that was only with 20% energy, and 10% everything else.
I just wish the Devs would make a shield generator run off a battery of some type that you can replace over time (make it similar to how you put bait on your fishing pole). Just make the battery last like for a few days or something like that.
I always carry a shield gen, so far only mark 1, usually just use it when you get jumped by gunfire and foremergency use.
On my second one now, only problem I have with them is they randomly change stats, usually the special protection one stays, but all theprotection typesappear and disappear at random. Even with it just sitting in your inventory.
I use them basically because the have zero incumberance, yes they wear out quick but they don't ruin your secondary hams using them. So just use them where the extra protection can help you survive long enough to take out a tough target.

That's a good idea. They should do that.
They do deteriorate pretty quick, but that's why I make a lot of money, to stock up on things like that.
The stats in the vendor seem to be correct. After you buy it they will change, but I find it resets to what it originally showed after loging out. (Maybe it changes more often. I don't examine it all that often.)
They are repairable by armor repair tools now, although my success rate with tools is abysmal. Have a back-up handy if at all possible.
