Thread: Weaponsmith needs some advice from TKAs

Hello,

My current standard VKs are 2.2 speed, 38-147 damage, +13 Ideal Range, and 37/42/37 HAM. I've been experimenting to reduce HAM mostly, but I was wondering what you TKAs generally prefer? Since most people go buffed anyway, would you rather me experiment range (it would get up to around +20 Ideal Range)? I had always thought TKAs were extremely accurate anyway, which is why I typically experiment on HAM.

Anyways, any advice on which VKs you'd prefer (1.Higher accuracy/ high HAMcosts or 2.lower accuracy, lower HAM) would be greatly appreciated.

Actually it depends on the stage of the TKAs career. Obviously at earlier stages accuracy is a big deal, but not as much as speed. Damage is always an issue obviously, regardless of the stage. HAM costs are a tricky one though since, as you pointed out, most people hunt with buffs anymore.

So, in my opinion, if you're gunning for the 'newer' TKA crowd I'd concentrate more on accuracy than HAM, but for a TKM's knuck I'd say lower the HAM costs instead of messing with accuracy. I don't hardly ever miss regardless of which knuck I use, but since reaching TKM I've been playing with different weapons and templates to figure out how I can best play the game without both armor and buffs. A low HAM cost knuck would be VERY nice.

Personally I search for high damage VKs anymore, regardless of any other factors. I still keep a "standard" set or two to fall back on if need be though.

It always makes me laugh how people don't relise that experimenting on damage is also extperimenting on speed

(There on the same line) My short time as a weaponsmith made me relise this, boy did i feel like an idiot for all those times id said to weaponsmiths "Make my wep low speed please"

I would say that Low HAM costs or High damage would be my preference. If you do start making them like this let us know where your vendor is.

I would say low HAM costs, I never miss anything with my +10 accuracy VKs, so your 13 is already better!

I am on ahazi and those VKs looks good, whats your ingame name, and wheres your vendors?

What I'd give to find a WS on my server that understands I at TKM want Low HAM VK's for day-to-day use with a High Damage VK for a tuff fight...

Personally I would buy whichever is the highest damage. Reason being is like you said, we're usually buffed and have already hit the speedcap at master.

By the way.. where's your shop at? I need to pick up some new knucklers this week.. lol!

I refuse to make low HAM cost weapons. Instead, any extra exp points left go into accuracy, or if not available, durability.

I used to use low HAM weapons, but now I use buffs all the time so I don't care. Damage means more to me than anything in a VK.
