Got a question for folks who fight with defense stackers. How do you do against defense stackers like pistoleers and fencers, with max dodge etc.Has anyone dueled a pure defense stacker and done significant damage? I wanted to know how effective the KD's and damage is against melee / ranged stackers as well as the defense vs state ones.

There was this one toon that 4 of us chased around town and no one could KD or dizzy him. He was fully buffed with mind buffs too and awsome armor, but no one could land a KD or anything. He prob had CoB up, and I was trying to land an intim on him, but man was his defense high.

From what I have learned within these halls, land your intimidate at all costs. Once intimidate is landed Dodge will not be a factor, and you will be able to land your other state attacks more efficiantly.

I have seen this to be true since I have started utilizing it myself.

Try to get Stun on there too.

Basically that sums it up though, keep trying until Intimidate and Stun stick, then go for the KD and Dizzy.

I'm a stacker too.

+120 vs KD, +100 vs posture change, +90 vs blind, +85 vs dizzy, +55 vs stun, +20 vs intimidation. +100 dodge when I pull out a pistol. +136 melee defense and +121 ranged defense (+141/+126 when I wear my Spec Ops pack). Melee mitigation 3 and ranged mitigation 2.

And yet I get my butt kicked regularly. I don't suck, I win often enough and have a decent PvP rating, but I'm not super duper.

Intimidate + Stun = Defense Stacker Nightmare.

Yeah, as you can see from my stats, it's hard to get really good stun and intimidate defenses, so those work well on a stacker.

Oddly enough, I rarely get stunned or intimidated in battle. I don't know if that's because people just don't know about them?

Most likely that is the case. I constantly see people who try nothing but a KD and a single special in duels...

Well, yes and no. Means those of us who learned how to use the template have an advantage

Of course, it does also lead to nerf cries when we fight someone who doesn't know how to use their template.... that's kinda depressing

If I'm fighting a Fencer/Pistoleer/TK stacker, most of the time I can't do anything to them because of their armor. If it's an unarmored dueled, I more often than not, come out on top. Like what's been said already, Intimidate (I have Master Brawler and use Intim 2) and Stun is a defense stacker's nightmare, while my nightmare is the acklay stun batons

Unarmed Hit 3 spammers. I generally look back through my combat log when fighting other TKMs and see what they used on me, and it's always just KD/Dizzy and Unarmed 3.

I generally go for Stun and Intimidate, and on Jedi use Unarmed 3 to Blind them. Then I'll go for a Dizzy/KD,but I generally do the Dizzy attack, then follow it up with a Posture Down instead of a straight KD because that works a lot better.

I would also recommend using warcry or better yet warcry 2 if you a master brawler. It will give you 10 (or 20) seconds to land your intimidate then go into the stun before your opponent gets their first attack off. Intimidate will not break the delay. If you can land that combo to start the combat (warcry, intimidate then stun) it will make your life a lot easier.

It's really hard to land warcry on someone without breaking it. Remember that you automatically swing your weapon every second when you're in combat. Back off a bit before you warcry to ensure you're out of range.
