Mainly Im looking for people who've been playing a while and are familiar with SOE and how they work.

What are the most likly changes regardinf combat revamp

Do you see TK's getting weaker ? or other professions getting stronger

Please no this should be done or this shouldnt be done.

Just intellegent guess based on many aspects of the game on what likely will be done.

Well Icouldgive you a slightly Jadded opinion, but I wont, i'll give the Dev's the benefit of un-common opinion. With the up and comming combat "up-grade" Skill points will actually mean something. The more Skill points it take to master a profession then the more powerfull that profession will be. I forgot the exact amount of Skill points it costs to master TKA but you should get my drift. There is also talk that there will be some new armor, new HAM system, perhaps some new moves (block and what not), and just maybe some new attacks since the way combat works will be very different from what it is now. My guess is that TKA won't change a whole lot, it's pretty basic and is based on number's (pluses to hit and damage mostly) and the attack's only apply multiplyer's and some states. I am not very active in the TKA forum so I do believe someone can answer this better. But from the point of view of someone that has played TKA for a while and has been keeping well informed as to what to expect in the future changes these are my thoughts.

well hopefully are ham will jsut be permanently buffed, or if the devs are smart they will just get rid of buffs altogether. if there anyone like me who remembers back when there where no buffs, the game was alot more fun when you had to group up with a bunch of other psychos just to get xp. as for what will happen to us, me gets the feeling htat our usefulness may decrease, not that we are really that useful against alot of mobs, but that doesnt mean that i will ever drop tk, but i wouldnt worry about the revamp.

TBH i am looking forward to this revamp, the only thing which really worries me is slowly slowly like most ol timers of this game i am starting to lose faith in this game. Please dont get me wrong there are so many good points this game has but its bad points are starting to pile up which is never a good sign.

I have played onl ine games for a long time, started with AC then moved to AC2, EQ, DaoC and now i am here. most of my friends moved to city of Heroes but i like this game, i like most people i have met and i love my proffesion. Now what's in the future of TK, thats a very interesting question, as almost every who plays a TKM thinks we need to be revamped in some form

I like to see other proffesions get a revamp and get balanced which hopefully will bloody stop trollers coming to these forums and shout nerf & after every proffesion is balanaced then we can sit down and get some juicy stuff on the table for Dev's to work with.

I think there will be a new Special Added Name /throatslit

when you get him incapped you will be able to get behind him and Slit his throat. lol

the Future of TKA Will be much of the way it is now. Which is PLacing our State effects on everyone to help win a battle.

I'm under an NDA so I can't say what I see in the future for TK.

I think they should have an offensive and defensive version of each profession (would be hard, and a long time to do it, but i think it would be good) Give the offensive version faster, stronger attacks and a "stance" that lets you attack faster. Then give the defensive version blocks and counters, and a "stance" that increases your chance to block or counter (much like what I think center of being should do, not just be dodge but whatever your "defense" is.) Then for ranged players, let tumbling be defensive, lower the accuracy and speed you attack at, but raise your defenses. Then let them have an attack stance where they shoot faster and more accurately but have lower defenses (Kind of like prone, but let them attack at point blank with it.)

In my opinion one of two things will probly happen. Either we'll stay about the same and other professions will change or we'll get the crap nerfed out of us. I'm hoping for the first. I heard from a guildmate a few weeks ago that he had heard something about buffs getting seriously changed so that they wouldnt make you superman and would be more based on a percentage added to your original stats. If this is true tka will become even more valuable in groups. Although this would hurt us because of our high ham costs it would really bring some fun back into this game. I remember when I had only been playing the game for maybe a week or two and my friend and I were actually trying to take something down that was above our level working together as a group. Like another person said earlier in the thread it's very fun to try and take on stuff as a group that you normally wouldn't be able to. today in this game some stuff just shouldn't be possible. Like being able to solo a krayt. I mean c'mon even though that takes someone with a lot of skills it just shouldn't be possible even for a jedi. What ever the future brings for tk it'll still be a needed profession no matter what.

I have been playing this game and been a TKM for a long time now. I have also been playing another SoE game for 4 years (EQ). The CS in this game is fantastic compared to EQ where there has always been a "Holier Than Thou" attitude by SoE. What i see in SWG is folks playin there characters as in an "EQ like" way, which is make char, level char, looking for all of those Ub3r L3wtz,etc. . I envision SWG should be played as you would if you lived in that Time. Kinda Sims like in that you interact with all kinds of other players as you would do in similar RL situations. If you were in an Army in RL in a war time setting you would be in great and small battles, be a spy, a medic/doctor and so on. This is a Good vs Evil type of game in which depending on what side of the fence you sit onas to what is good or evil.

What my hopes are for TKM after the combat revamp is that TK's will be the fastest hitters, hit for medium low damage, have best state / UA defenses, and be susceptible to ranged attacks as it should be and not by a kiting process.I would hope that poison abilities(shurikens) & being 2nd best at applying state changes( pikeman should be 1st) wouldcome intothe domain of a TKM, but we'll see what happens. All classes should have a "innate" type of terrain negotiation and some type of basic first aid abilities, as these things occur naturally in RL . Why not in this game? I would also like to see FoW do something other than what it does and for TK's to get the FD ability. I would hope that after the revamp that there will be no "God-Like" professions and that each would truly have its individual strengths/weakness's.

Please no flames as these are just my ramblings/thoughts.
