I have 2 aa's One is counterattack and the other is one handed counter attack what is the difference between these two?

Counterattack, is the defensive skill mod for anyone holding a two handed weapon (like a powerhammer, scythe, 2-hand sword etc).
One Handed Counter Attack is an old skillmod left over from the days of beta that has yet to be removed due to general apathy by the DEVs. One hand counter attack will not work at all, and is absolutely useless.
If you put a counter attack attatchment into clothing or armor, but you have a rifle, pistol, one hand weapon, pike, lightsaber, flamethrower, or are unarmed (also with VK) it will not help you one bit. Counterattack ONLY works with 2-hand melee weapons and carbine weapons.

does not work with carbines counterattack? or is therea CA that gives carbines counterattack

As a general rule, the defense AA's and CA's that work are simply named. For example: "Dodge", "Block", and "Counterattack" work, anything labled "1h melee etc." (you can replace 1h w/2h) will not work. There is a thread of what works and what does not around somewhere. I'll post a link if I find it.

carbines counterattack will stack with swordsman counterattack, pistoleer dodge will stack with fencer dodge, pike block will stack with rifles block, up to a total bonus of 125, anything more is useless
