Thread: The CU & Teräs Käsi What we know V1.0 (Discussion & Information thread).
So what I will do is carry on updating this with what we know as much as I can, even if it’s just posting links & a very quick copy & paste summary of what you have all been told, after that if you want to add speculation, just post it, I’ll add any thing that seems to be agreed on by others & credit it over to you, this is the type of thread I feel it’s important to keep going as it will help squash any nasty rumours that spring up out of nowhere.
I hope we can keep this thread going, however understand that it will be very difficult for me to post anything on this subject.
Well since a few snips of information appeared in the Stratics chat earlier in the month I decided to sit down & look through what is known about what’s coming & thought it would be a good idea to put a twist in it of focusing on TK & see what other people think about what’s coming & what they have seen by looking at the information we have been given so far. Some of this will be general stuff that may apply to other professions, I think most of it likely will be, however this is more aimed at TKs then anything.
Before I say anything else I’m going to stress that much of this post is speculation, I’m not in the CU/R/B Alpha so I have no further information other then what you do.
This will start off as quite a small post however if all goes according to plan I will update this whenever we get more information made public. A couple of sections may be empty for a while simply due to lack of information to fill them with.

At the moment (22/1) we don’t have a great deal of information on weapons changes other then what we were given in the Armour information (located here).
However this is what we do know:
Three Ranged Damage types, Four Melee.

In the new system we have been told that AR system has been removed.
Speculation.
Going on this I think it might be a good guess to say that all professions will now be viable for PvE. As it stands we have only an AP1 weapon so on a Krayt or Gorax hunt you are much better been a Swordsman or Rifleman as the damage reduction we suffer is a lot worse then the resists state. That reduction will no longer be there so all weapons should be effective in one way or another.
Another speculation which I have seen said a couple of times (including from a couple of guild mates) is that maybe different modes will cause a higher maximum damage. While this is not a thought I share (my thought is that only the damage reduced my armour will be effected & not the max damage) I thought it worth adding to try & get more opinions on that thought as well.
Weapons. - Updated on 13/02
With the CU/R/B it’s expected to also see the following weapons, unless it says “Confirmed” next to it there is every chance they will not appear, there is an equal chance however they will.
VibroKnucker – this has been our weapon for a long time, presumably it still will be.
Razor Knuckler – Originally planed to come out with the Death Watch Bunker this was a Heat damage version of the VK that required NS Vibromotors to make. It never hit live as it was considered overpowered. We were told it would be back with the CU/R/B.
Blaster Fist (Confirmed) - The Friday Feature on 11/02 revealed a few weapons coming with the CU/R/B (located here). This includes the Blaster Fist which was described as a melee weapon that fires a very short ranged energy blast during impact. Presumably it will be a Teräs Käsi weapon though there has been no cert information yet (it may be certed in a profession that has Unarmed 4 as a perquisite as far as we know) however I think it’s safe to assume that we will be able to use this while fighting as a Teräs Käsi.
Speculation:
As you may know the Blaster Fist originaly appeared in the Pub10 .TRE file. The same Friday Feature that confirmed the Blaster Fist also confirmed a riffle, the Massassi Ink Rifle, I’m mentioning this as in the same .TRE file that held the Blaster Fist skin there was also a Massassi Knucker (picture here), though this is purely speculation it looks like they may be adding a range of Massassi based weapons, until the Knucker or any others are confirmed though we do not know for sure.

While I agree we do need more weapons & armour for every proffesion stuff takes times. However in the Pub10 TRE files there were weapons for lots of other proffesions, I've only mentioned the Knuckers simply as this is from a TK point of veiw & I saw little point to digging out pics of the carbines, pistols, pikes & swords that were in there (gonna stress again though, we do not know if any of these things, including the knucklers, will be used in the CU/R/B). I do wish LA had got around to aproving the weapons Friday Feature Calandryll_SOE mentioned when he posted last weeks as I'm very intrested to see what weapons are been added & if the Pub10 TRE ones are among them.
Armour on the other hand we know we are geting at least 4 new armour sets (all faction veriants), the Devs said in the same feature that with the new armour system been 3 types with lots of skins but essentialy the same stat range within that type it will make adding more armour easier at a later date. It's one thing to want some new stuff but it does all take time so personly I'm very pleased with the new armour system as it should make even Bone, Chitin & Tantelarmour viable for those who want to use them. That was my understanding of the system anyway.

I hope they do ditch 100% Resists, however evenif they don't I'm glad the AR system has been taken out (going on the Armour Friday Feature). As a TK - Smuggler - Pistoleer it will meenI might get to acctuly hurt something thats high level.
Its a great idea to sort everything out so we can prepare... as soon as they tell us more of course.
As of right now, with so little info I have few comments, but I will say:
The razor knucklers had better not still need a component that drops off of something that I can't even damage... and spawns ONLY ONCE A DAY with no guarantee of even dropping the needed item!
I'll add more info as soon as they give me more info.
