Today's Friday Feature has pictures of some of the new weapons that will be coming with the Combat Upgrade. Take a look:

Of particular interest is the Blaster Fist, which can be seen here:

Dammit, beat me to it Ryutek! I just read the article and was coming here to gloat about our new knuckler. Looks pretty good, should help against those dammned 100% kinetic creatures we see roaming around now and then.
Hmmm...since it does energy damage as it releases a short-ranges energy blast, I wonder if blaster powerups can be used in it? Probably not. Still, looks like a good addition.

Now, you really think I could let someone else post a link before me? This at least helps me step down with a nice exit
Seriously though, I just happened to catch it quickly for a change

I really like the look of that RSF sword too.
I hope it's usable by people with just two fencer trees, like me.
Stylish! And not unrealistic-looking like some of those other swords.
Either way, i'll probably buy one just for the look anyway.

This is really a step in the right direction for the game. By having more weapons in the game along with more armor, hopefully there won't be the same "right weapon and armor all the time" syndrome that seems to plague the game. It gets a little tiring always seeing the same people running around, the only differences being height and armor color.
-Composite armor and T21
-Composite armor and powerhammer
-Composite armor and scythe
-Composite armor and stun baton
Maybe changing how armor works and adding numerous weapons will address this. It may be harder on the crafters to keep up with having all the items in stock all the time, but thus is the life of a small business owner.

I would like to caution the readers here though thatnot all weapons may be cert'd to the professions you think they might be. Don't assume because it is a melee weapon it is for you or that if because it is a rifle that rifleman get it.

It's probably safe to assume, though, that the Blaster Fist is going to the TKA's. Yes, Smuggler and Commando both have Unarmed prerequisites, too, but neither of them place any emphasis on Unarmed combat while TKA is exclusively unarmed melee.
As for the rifles and other melee weapons, you're most likely correct. The BH may get some of the pistol certifications while the pistoleer gets others, and heck, they may even give one to the smugglers since they don't have any of their own. I think it's safe to assume that the two-handed weapons can be handled by any Master Swordsman, but the real question is where the certification will lie on the tree.

But remember blast has basically be restricted to Commandos before and they do have the unarmed requirement. I think it is safe to say in this case yes it is yours... but I hope you understand all melee equipment might not be yours is all I am saying.

all I can say is this, there are counters for everything.... if composite is strong against something, it's weak against something else.
The biggest adjustement is going to be in people thinking that there is a "best" weapon/armor/damage type

At any rate, even if the cert is not where you think it may be it will probably be attainable easily enough while still a TK. Simple math would suggest that anyway.
