No longer do masters have the wide array of wonderful animations for the different Teras Kasi moves. And only an arcade 'thump' sound when you hit a target. I hope that this is just indicative of a work in progress.
I really do.
Otherwise Teras Kasi will have gone fom the most visually satisfying profession in this game to one of the dullest. And the fact that theres only 3 moves in Teras Kasi at master is really heartbreaking considering the variety we had before the CU. The other moves below the master box were still of great use to us, and looked terrific. You could mix and match, not just for their utility, but to string together great looking strikes.
Now, the same three core moves in TKA are repeated in strength, leaving you with no need to use the others below the adv. moves. So, after you have placed them all in your toolbar. You havent even filled it completely.
This profession has been one of the most satisfying ones I have had in the game, I am sad to see it going as we have it now. If the moves we have now were kept and the TKA armor added in. It would be one of the best.
I really think the entire CU has gone too far, a profession should be satisfying to look at too.

Not to mention that you spend more time checking the icons than watching the battle. All in all a dull and boring experience.

That's my biggest beef with the "upgrade". I can't enjoy the battle because I'm too busy watching my own ham and toolbar. If I watch the battle, I wont be effective and I'll lose. If I watch my toolbar, I'll go really good but get no satisfaction fo watching my character fight. It's lose-lose

To be honest, from the standpoint of a professional...
Our animations were never beautiful, they were elementary tricks, but yes even those are gone now.
Yep, we've got 3 moves, and advanced combo is almost as crappy as melee strike.
2 weeks until the end of the game.

Ok I thought in CU TKA was suppose to be a tank. So it is clear to me I have no idea what I am doing in cu when I grouped with one other player(a master pitoleer) and I could not keep agro at all. I would taunt abd before I could do another move bam the target was running to the other player. I am not one of those TKAs on live that can solo high level stuff I am just a simple Master that plays TKA because it was fun for me. IN the CU it id far from fun

Just an FYI... Every profession has this kind of problem. I think it's because they don't want to invest animations on specials when they aren't 100% sure which specials are going to carry over to live. At some point the animations will probably be added in.

Try doing specials from other professions and you will see where the animations have gone, there still there. A pure tkm will only give you 3 specials but a tkm/fencer/sword/pike will give your tkm more moves than you can think of.

moves:yes
animations:no
Like i said many times before, even if you take all melee professions you just get the animations for
lunge 1+2
spin 1+2
bodyhit
leghit
headhit

I've been playing on TC for a bit now.. on and off.. and i have to agree with everyone here.. all i am doing is watching my toolbar for the next move to be added in... and my new 'improved' (cough) ham bars
we now look really bad.. with no good animations.. but with really awful looking lights and other effects.. looks like a bad attempt at a dancer/musician special
I don't care how much people try to talk up the combat downgrade.. in MHO test centre has made the game FAR more boring and dull.. exactly the opposite of what the Devs claim this CU was intended for..
I really don't want to leave the game.. but i just don't know how to stay if the Live version is gonna be as bad as Test Centre..
I fully understand that the current system is not perfect.. and needs looking at.. all the Commandos in the house will get me there (and i'm not even a Commando) but the existing system is far and away a better system that anything that is currently on Test Centre
Chin up guys and gals.. its the end of the world as we know it.. but do we feel fine??
- I support keeping & balancing the current combat system You can too

I can't agree with you more. The lack of visuals and limited variaty were an unpleasent suprise. The only benifit I can see is that we no longer suffer from animation 'lock' with out manuvers.
I hope this is a work in progress as you say. Where SOE is claiming that one of the great changed in the CU is the increased number of animations, special effects and increased partical count in animations, we definitly are getting a raw deal.

Well, with the Mother of all Nerfs to a lot of Proffs on 1 account i use TKM and Master Doc, and doing PvP against what was an Enforcer he was able to put me in stasis 2 to 3 times and just fire the hell out of me, luckily i had Master Medic on TC Ep3.
But no 1 should be able to use such a move like that unless their a good leveled Jedi, its Bs at its greatest.
TKM is my Favorite template for all accounts that i use and i sure as hell as dont feel like giving up this proffession
for about a dozen characters that i use on and off.
The HAM went away way to fast and were supposed to be ther best melee Defenders/Defence, and we have some powerful
VKs that should account for something.
So now i dont no if i can even any good fighting in PvE.
