The devs did say that all defensive skill mods will no longer stack outside of their profession, so what makes you think they'll allow melee profession skill mods to stack?

Um I have never seen ANY official statment that states that at all.

Please post a link of a Dev stating this.

Also the game states that Melee Defense skills are meant to stack by it's own in game skill definition of "Defense Acuity".

"Defense Acuity

(This modifier improves your chance of reacting to a succesful hit with a dodge, counter attack or block)"

Straight from the game's skill definition in the TKA class.

That TKA skillis designed so you can react with a skill from Fencer, Swordsman, and Pikeman.

Fencer has the Dodge, Swordsman has the Counter attack, and Swordsman had Block.

So that is written PROOF that they designed it that way.

I for one will quit the instance that they change what they promised in writing.

The whole Brawler class itself supports this fact.

Just think of it this way, If there was another skill box above Mater TKA, Master Fencer, Master Swordsman, Master Pikeman called "Grand master Brawler" or something. This would follow the whole Melee stacking path set by the Master Brawler class.

I also just noticed something while watching the combat chat spam.

I am fighting Gurreck Forest hunters and they must be Fencers swordsman and pikeman becuase they can Block, Dodge, and Counter attack.

So again, if the critters we fight can have stacked Melee class skill defenses than we had better be able to as well.

More in game written proof : }

I have just posted on the sticky thread about this, but it does seem that at the moment the only defences that are affected by the upcoming changes are the 3 passive dodge, block and counterattack skills.

I have asked for further clarification on how defensive acuity stacks (if at all with these), and do bear in mind that this is a 'first pass' request for comments on the intended publish 7, and is of course apt to change

When you say "affected" you mean that they will be capped but still stackable right?
