Ok first of all I'm a complete newbie, started playing less than 36 hours ago.

I would really like to eventually make a wookiee jedi. Wookiees are badass and Wookiees with lightsabres are even more badass.

First I decided to learn the basics of the game, so I make a wookiee character and think "well wookiees are big and strong so I'll just become an unarmed fighter."

Now I come here and read this in a faq:

To make up for the fact that they cannot wear any armor, Wookiees have large bonuses in each of the possible attributes. However with some armor suits reaching >80% resistances, the inability to wear armor reduces a Wookiee's ability to be a tank (which is the how the Devs view the role of the TKA). The bonus to Warcry means that the delay has a greater chance or sticking/working on the target. Wookiee roar is a move unique to Wooks. It is a cone version of the Intimidate special move that also boosts Mind by 20 points. Wookiees can use this move every 5 minutes. For more on these moves see the special moves section below.

So basically does this say that being a wookiee is a really bad race to be for unarmed combat since I can't wear armor?

If this is so, any other good proffessions for a wookiee to be?

I'm not exactly sure how becoming a jedi works, but is it sort of a good idea to learn the game by going through a normal profession tree, and then trying to become a jedi?

Well crafted wookie armor is better than high quality comp, wookies actually make better tanks with good armor.
