Firstly TKM is not useless in PvP - Its a lot more effective than people make it out to be.


PvE, other professions do NOT do the same. Fencer has weaker damage output, more defence. Pike has more damage, less defence. Ditto with Swordsman.

If people want to say TKM needs to be nerfed, I couldn't care less. Thats their opinion, you have yours, I have mine. We all need to respect each others opinions

Anyways I think TKM is the most balanced profession as it is...and my favorite at that.


I'm the TKM/M-FENCER/4400 MEDIC template, because of this I duel w/o armor all the time, but if I don't duel w/ a VK w/ unarmed toughness...I get rocked, as it were.


So my opinion is that TKM does not need to be nerfed, most cries of, "NERF!! NERF IT AS IT IS TOO GOOD!!!" just come from someone who is angry about getting the proverbial smack laid down on them.


Then again, TKM's base abilities and stats do not need to be increased, if I can beat a master rifleman w/o armor I don't think we need more defense.


The only thing I think could be added to TKM to make it more, "neat" is the profession specific armor/clothing (robes for TKM) and a new knuckler, same stats as the VK but different damage.

I really Wouldnt worry about it the NERF Calls about TKM. TK IMHO is the only balanced proffesion in SWG, I wish the same balance to be applied to the rest of the proffesions.

that's just a bunch of crap. you aren't going to take out elders or groups of any size who know how to pvp, but TK is far from useless.


TK has the advantage of being the only melee profession that can drop all four state attacks (blind, stun, dizzy, and intimidate) individually without a "roll". Swordsmen do massive damage to the mind pool, for example, but in order to dizzy/kd someone, you have to spend time spamming 2hHit3 and hope you roll a dizzy. Same with pike. Stun is also, IMO, an underutilized attack, and blind is the best way to protect yourself from the swordsmen and riflemen.


Lets not forget also that our toughness, the highest of any melee class, is a natural barrier which reduces the damage we take even more than armor. The state defenses we have are pretty mediocre, but with fencer 0440 or even 0420, they can be effectively increased, and with pistols 0040 we could even fit mitigation 2 into a TKM template.


I have played every combat class in the game, and almost every stacker combination. I stick with TK because it allows me to help my group in pvp as a support character for the jedi, or if I am ungrouped, I can survive long enough to take down my opponents one by one. Its not as bad as you make it out to be, you just need to explore your options further.


I do agree, however, that TK does NOT need a rebalance (read:nerf) of any kind.
