To my knowledge, the damage on the VK's is in addition to your base unarmed damage so you will always hit harder while having VK's equiped. I also have master power tech and when I'm not using special moves I have my VK's equiped. The speed may not be a lot of difference but it is still a little faster with them on I think.

I've got Power 4 and Precision 2 (so I have Unarmed Leg Hit 1), and last night I did some testing and found the following DPSs (damage per second):

UH2 sans VK
-----------
724.375 dmg/s

UH2 w/VK
--------
1234 dmg/s

ULH sans VK
-----------
550 dmg/s

ULH w/VK
--------
842 dmg/s

normal hit w/berserk
--------------------
488 dmg/s

Up until now, I've been using normal attack with berserk with no specials, and I can't really comment on any stage in TKA development prior to my own stage, as I haven't done anything solid prior to last night.

Keep in mind, this is raw damage output, regardless of what pool it hits. In addition, each trial was only over a period of about 10s or so, so I may have some sampling error issues (ie this info may not necessarily be indicitive of the usual behaviour of these moves).

As I'm sure you know, using specials with VKs equipped is hugely HAM intensive, so ignore those figures...

Now, with the normal attack/any other non-pool specific attack, Health gets hit about 50% of the time, with Action and Mind getting hit much less often (can't recall exactly what, but obviously they'd both be less than 50%). So, over a long period of time, your attacks will average out so that half of your DPS goes to Health, with the other half being unevenly distributed to Action and Mind. So, with that in mind, when comparing any random-pool attack to other attacks, consider them to do half their DPS to Health, and use that figure.

SO, my altered normal attack/berserk DPS = 244, and my altered UH2 DPS = 362.1875. It's now pretty obvious that:

ULH > UH2 > normal attack/berserk

*at my stage of TKA development*, which is 0142.

As far as HAM/dmg goes, I don't have any hard figures in front of me, but I recall that UH2 was 14 dmg/A and ULH was 13 dmg/A. Obviously, you'll likely have different numbers as your stats will be different to mine, however UH2 will still be a little better than ULH (though the difference is negligable.)

So, it seems pretty clear to me that ULH > UH2 > berserk + VK, in damage per second. Obviously you can't just spam either ULH or UH2 all day, though. Well, if you've got some medic skills (like I do), you can, but otherwise, you should mix up ULH without VK and berserk/VKs.

Oh, and with regards to the armour piercing ability of VKs vs the lack of armour piercing on your fists... Light armour by itself doesn't make much of a difference in terms of what you should do (as 1.25 * 244 = 305, which is less than 550). After that, I'm not sure, as I don't know exactly how armour works. Specifically, I don't know if AP 1 overcomes, say, the additional kinetic resists on an AR 1 NPC/creature/player.

NOW... having said all of that, I would urge someone else to try and verify my numbers, as, like I said, they were only short trials. However, they seem to be pretty clear (as the difference is quite large). But, like I said, if you disagree, please prove me wrong.
