Thread: Ideal Range for large Creatures and Fighting them
Well took a group to hunt some krayts last night. With AR3 and 60% resist to kinetic I did not think I could administer much of a beating. So I said "what the heck" put on my motely collection of ubese/comp/mabari/marauder and ran up underneath the krayt and started hitting it. The funny thing is that while I was under the krayt and punching it, it did not hit me back. It only started hitting me when it warped a few feet away from me so I was not under it anymore.
Now those who have maulers and rancors know that they will often run away from little creatures like kimas so as to get into the ideal "slapping" or damage range where they can acutally do any damage. So am I right in guessing that if we get under a rancor, as in right between its legs or hugging its tail and as long as we stay under it and keep on hitting it, it cannot effectively hit us back? I noticed that the same thing happened when I went under a giant dune kimogilla and I even managed to KD it. So is this a tactic, worth looking into orwas I just lucky?
