Im trying to fight Torton's but they keep twisting and turning till they're 8m away, and i can only hit them at 7m.

This is very frustrating. Sure, i can use specials, but you cant take them down on specials alone.

What's the deal with this?

Yup. I wish they would just stay in range. This is rediculous

Get underneath them, right under the belly.

Step 1: Drink "Breath of Heaven"

Step 2: Get right in the middle of the thing and KD+Dizzy

Step 3: Warcry

Step 4: Lay the smack down on it until it turns into a corpse.

What the others said... to summarize - unequip the VKs to get more range. Knock them down and warcry. Equip VKs. Kill.

Alternatively - sometimes if they are engaged with a pet, they stay still and you can get right under them. The problem seems to be large mobs that will slowly back up if you are the only one fighting it (which forces you to manually follow to maintain the short distance). Multiple attackers will sometimes get them to stick.

If you have a KD use that plus warcry to delay them. I never had a problem with Pikets running away by doing this.
