Thread: why shouldn't a helm protect against the dizzy+knockdown gimick

...now, i know this isn't based on any actual game data or anything.

and probably is a latent whine about TKa/m ...but am i alone in finding it odd, that a composite helm... that otherwise is capable of helping me survive an attack from several rancors.

is incapable of protecting me from a dizzy attack?

i played a lot of football in my highschool days. and my helmet was made out of plastic and foam padding. and i took some pretty nasty hits. and gave a few out as well. i only ever managed to knock one guy out. ...because i weigh 250+ and and elbowed him from behind (but in my defense he was the quarterback... and they got a free first down after he woke up).

so if a thin plastic helm can protect my nogg'n from bumps and jostling... and smacks and bumps from fellow teamates. why is it a helm made of metal and forged using advanced futuristic scfi type technology... leaves me laid out on the floor just waiting to be DB ...when some TKA person just clocks me over the cabasa?

a knockdown is different. ...a sweep, attack on the legs or something like that. and down ya go. but it's the dizzy aspect that apparently keeps you down and makes that combo, un-defendable and extremely overpowered.

i think wearing a helm should increase your passive defenses from state attacks, like stun, dizzy, and definately blind ?!?!

if not totally negating those attacks, at least significant protections. on the order of 60-80% resistances to attacks that affect your head.

doesn't seem unreasonable? and unlike the common practice of "nerf to fix" making helms protect against those sorts of attacks would give people a way to defend without having the players who use those attacks having to get an inherently weaker attack. just giving them an attack that isn't 99% effective at giving the victum no chance to recover.

/end whine

why don't you go put your football helmet on and get in the ring with lennox lewis? i'm sure you'll be fine.

If you watch the animation you will see you aren't being hit in the head.

You are being kicked in the groin. Believe me, that will KD you and you will feel dizzy.

Composite helm can protect from dizzy, ask your local armosmith to make one with some layers.

Note : KD+dizzy don't make a TK ( or any other class able to KD ) win automaticly ( sp ? ). Some class such as fencer, pistoleer have a high defense against this kind of attack.
Also, TKM dizzy defense is 5 and KD defense 20, that make us weak to those attack as well.

Your armorsmiths must be playing a different game from mine :-)

The only way to get dizzy defense from armor is to drop in a looted +def vs. dizzy attachment.
